There are a lot of cuisine famous for their exotic nature or just widespread in the country. Most of those, if not all, are a product of people having to eat whatever is left after higher class (Tamal) or whatever they can find (French frogs).

Will there be an event where earlier in the game event system generates "people/lower classes/peasants started eating <insert-something-and-maybe-something-else-here>" based on the location and later it has a chance to turn into "Cuisine becomes popular. People from whole world come to experience <insert- random-name-here>, a <insert-something-and-maybe-something-else-here-but-now-expanded>" gaining X fame in the process.

The results can be bland as a "very salty cheese" to bizarre "fried leaves with crab shell".

Should the ingredients have fictional/randomly generated names like "Macehead fish" or "Province-name sheep"? This idea can expand to alimal breeds. That would be fundamentally same event. This cuisine will absolutely bring a lot of flavour to the game.

Pun not intended.

I vote in favor of this... it will literally add more Flavor to the game... :P

Let's give the NPC Civilian little guys/gals more chances to contribute to Fame & Glory! :D

Could also be a chance for a city with high food yields to be a source of fame, so an agrarian oriented culture could have extra benefits. Although I admit such a small event would be sort of weird given the scope of the game, it would be a fun detail they could throw in just because.
