Hi developers,


I have question regarding units style of different cultures - will be there graphical differences between common units of civilizations ?

I believe that you can definetely see a difference in the armor, since every civilization had different resources, different designs based on their beliefs and their technological progress advanced differently. Besides, different units demand different tactics as the equipment differs - some ride on horses, others wield bows etc.

I also think that we will see different skin colours. After all, the Egypts did not live in polar regions and the Zhou-Dynasty was not in the hottest desert (yes, there is the Gobi Desert but you get what I mean).

I meant wheter for example spearman of zhou will have different look as a spearman of olmecs, so it is the same unit with the same stats - common unit, not unique unit.

The name and stats (and I believe the 2D icon as well) will be the same across the different cultures for consistency and readability, but the 3D models of the units do differ. You can see examples of this in some screenshots we published with previous Feature Focus blogs. The two images below feature swordsmen from four different cultures.
