I can play EL and ES2 on really low graphics settings. The first really nicely, and the second one, with some delay on loading late game turns. Is it plausible I can play Humankind on my "toaster"?

The minimum specifications have not been announced yet. I'm not even sure if it's been announced if it will run on the Unity engine, although that is likely.

It's too early for us to reveal minimum and recommended specifications, and I am not a technical expert, but I would guess that if you have to run EL and ES2 on the lowest settings, you will have problems with Humankind.


And yes, Humankind does indeed run on Unity.
