I wonder what the final map size will be, it seems like a lot of potential this game has would be wasted on a small map. If anyone knows how limited the engine is, and what your point of view about the question leave it here.

The smallest maps are around the same size as the smallest maps in Civ6, but the bigger maps get a bit bigger, though that is relativized somewhat by the territory and region system resulting in an overall smaller number of cities. Personally I'd say it feels about the same.

This topic has been addressed several times already. You can see previous discussions on the topic here. There will be between 8-10 players per map, they haven't decided yet. The limiting factor is cultures, since each player must have a unique culture. There is a possibility that as they add more cultures with DLCs they will increase the maximum number of players. Further information such as how world wrap works has not been release yet.

The number of cultures is not the only factor in player limits. Game Balance and pacing changing due to available space are also considerations, as is AI processing time and general performance. And those are just examples I can think off of the top of my head.

All I know is Civilization 6 is a pain in the rear to even figure out, too much stuff - I can't wait till 2021 for a game that actually makes sense ?
