Well, let me just start with the most important thing... I want to play this game! In a second play through I experimented, did worse, and learned more! Excellent.
There is one gripe, I have. I find the "wheel" technology annoying. The wheel was used originally as a potters tool. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/a-salute-to-the-wheel-31805121/ It doesn't seem to fit all that well as a prerequisite of trade/hydrology. So let me make an over the top suggestion... Change "Wheel" to "Caravans". And have the art work be domesticated animals pulling packed goods. Move the "Food Market" to the new Caravans technology; include Chariots. This also helps to consolidate the road building mechanic which I only noticed now that I've been staring at the technology for several minutes!
Also. This is probably not an option, but something that's always bugged me a bit. Is in early civilization games when you can "buy" city improvements. I think it was the Call to Power games which made it an early-mid game development you had to reach. Otherwise the only way to rush a building was forced labor / potentially killing your own populations. But in that game there was also a mechanic, I think, to kidnap enemy civilizations workers and have them as slaves earlier on. It made war have a real... awfulness to it, but, it could be very rewarding.
Some other thoughts. I imagine you've had the suggestion already to improve the visibility of the the very purple icons in the technology tree that grant actions or civil bonuses, for ex. Philosophy, Carpentry. I think it's weird, personally, that elk are the roving animals. Perhaps if those were changed to mountain lions ... wolf packs, etc. I love the natural wonders. At this time they all seem largely the same. Can you reveal if there's going to be slight differences in the full game?
I though of the roads with the wheel as weird too. Even before playing the game. Just saw a letsplay and i though "what ? roads have nothing todo with the wheel! "
Mammoth and Megaloceros are quite good for Paléolithic but not after that, It would be nice to change for the Ancient time. It would also be good to earn food when you hunt them, as it would mean something.
The idea of slaves being kidnapped from other civilizations is really great, but can be a bit difficult to implement so far in the development of the game. However, if it's possible, I think it's actually much closer to historical reality and can bring an interesting gameplay.

I find the most significant variable that's making that a problem is that the Babylon Open dev scenario did not start in the Neolithic era, where supposedly it's been mentioned to be the era that makes hunting animals give food so that players can accumilate enoigh food for their hunter-gatherer roaming armies to build their first settlement and advance into the next era. instead the Babylon scenario starts with a culture already decided for us and in the ancient era, so we do not experience the time when food matters. I am fine with Deer and Mammoth hunting giving us money instead of food for the ancient era, because food has proven to be vastly infirior to money as a proponent for empire growth--outside of hitting the super growth threshold--which still caps population growth at one pop every four turns--which i'm fine with.
Ok, thanks for the clarification about hunting. I totaly agree about gold instead of food for the ancient era. Though it really pisses me off to see mammoth next to babylonians. Buffalos or Lions would make me happier.

I think wildlife in the scenario was meant as possible enemies and resource options not so much cultural accuracy. It's an alpha version after all.
I agree that's just an alpha version and improvment still need to be done, and it's only a scenario. It wasn't about cultural accuracy, but it's kind of an anachronism the last mammoth was exctinct thasounds years before what the game name ancient era. Even if animals are only enemies and resources, I hope that these characteristics will be more realistic in the next version, in fact, it is only skin/details that can sadely break the immersion.

You are right ofc I chose my words poorly. I meant anachronism.
