Ruses in Humankind

Hi!

My idea for humankind would be to introduce ruses (or stratagem, I don't know the exact translation) into warfare. Since I read "The Art of War" I missed the tactical possibilities in Civilization.

So my suggestion would be that every player gets an amount of ruses over time (or bought with gold or other resources). He can activate them and they influence a certain area/district over a certain amount of rounds (these factors can be varied for balancing). Downsides of these ruses could also be implemented to weaken them.

(Veterans might see that I was inspired by the real-time strategy game "R.U.S.E")

My ideas for ruses:

- forced march: units have more movement points (but are maybe weaker in battle)

- camouflage: units (or districts/buildings) are harder to spot (but maybe slower)

- guerilla warfare: units in woods are much harder to spot and have a battle bonus (but maybe need certain rounds to gather to get out of the woods)

- surveillance: enemy units are shown even outside of the viewing range

- assault: if a unit wins a battle, it throws the enemy unit back (but maybe the attacking unit is weaker in defense)

- assault #2: units ignore low ground

- fake units/buildings/districts: players can build fake units/districts/buildings to fake a stronger army or defence (the fake is only visible at close range)

- disguise: players can disguise a unit as another one (the disguise is also only visible at close range)

These are only some ideas I got spontaneously, of course you would have to balance them and see if some of them are not too annoying.

What do you think about these suggestions? A dream for real strategists or a shitty idea?

(Sorry for grammar mistakes, I'm not a native speaker)

From what I got to play around, hunting deer in the first scenario, the camouflage and the assault point you raised are indeed in the game already. While in the tactical phase of the battle, units in the forests cannot be seen unless you have a unit on the tile next to it, and also (I lost against deer to see it) when you lose in a battle, the group of units runs away from the encounter.
