Wow this is interesting. I had a little bit of a problem with another user who was trying to insist on defining a culture with genetic in-group identifications and I got uncomfortable. I explained that and then I stopped participating in the conversation. I just hope that people understand that a depiction of humankind over the span of a history as varied and rich as our species is always going to be fraught with the occasional difficulty. Presently in the world there's a lot of distress, stress, and, terrible things. If you want to focus in on history there have been terrible acts and events. Often the effort to analysis this is made worse by the limited understanding of historians at the time of what was significant, or, made complicated by willful interpretation to support the country/culture of the historian at the time they were doing the interpreting.

If you start to get frustrated by what seems like an oversight from another person on the forums or even the developers remember that you have a distinctly unique world view and context which can only be shared if you explain it; there are likely historical 'facts' that are prevelant or pronounced in general as well understood but history like other sciences is usually improved upon over time but even still may not be available for everyone. The internet does set us on a somewhat more even footing for contextual and, yes, cultural similiaries but the forums and the discord have people from all over the world.

There is a defensive psychological response that's ingrained in all of us that responds not only to physical but also emotional / linguistic attacks, and, if you really want to have a broad and rich gaming experience try to remember that you have to work through that same response if you want to have a through and edifying conversation, or, be capable of delivering an informative lecture - which I don't disapprove of, but, consider that a discord chat channel may not be the most appropriate situation. If anyone with a rich understanding of different historical, or, even, current histories is interested in broadening the world views of others this might be a great oppourtunity to maybe stream or make a short video and upload it. We can all go out to the internet but I think a lot of that information is going to be summary in scope, not, personal.
