If you're looking to unlock the streamer avatars, they'll be dropping on our stream tomorrow (Thursday the 29th of April, from 6pm to 8pm CEST)

Also, to clarify something:

SpikedWallMan wrote:

I guess that's another thing that bothers me - the avatar "rewards" are really lame unless you are already a fan of the streamers.  But even at that, the key selling point of the avatar feature seems to be to put yourself in the game so why would someone play with an avatar that's not themselves?

The streamer avatars are meant for the streamers existing fans, and not for them to play as the streamer, but against the streamer. Only the streamers themselves will be able to select their streamer avatar for themselves. To other players, they are an AI opponent.

Thanks for the clarification.  I was also imagining that multiplayer interactions would be sort of confusing if people were able to use streamer avatars as their own.  And thanks for adding drops to the upcoming stream.

Just an quick post to inform as many people as possible: JDG (Joueur Du Grenier) will make his Humankind Live Sunday afternoon. As it was not everyone who understand French, at least, now you knows.

So basically

Yogscast (TheSpiffingBrit and Lewis)
Joueur_du_Grenier (JdG)
ZeratoR (Zerator)
Quill18 (Quill18)

will not play the game at all during the time of the drop? Why open a campaign without contacting the person/channels that are suppose to have the drop?

For example Yogscast, I asked and they told me they did not have Humankind on their plan at all during the time of the Campaign, which is bonkers...

This only sheds bad light on the game, if even the promoted players won't play the game at all...

So weird...

I recommend you to merge the drop in the single campaign, and give all avatars for any Twitch account with drops (either all at once, or by 30 min after each other, at least for those that will not stream it...

For JdG, his Live will be sunday afternoon.

But for ZeratoR, Quills and Lewis I don't know honestly. I knows that, the other day, ZeratoR had forget it, so I don't know if it was, again, the case. he are really busy these lasts days, as it are involved in many things simultaneously, so who knows.

On Lewis side, I think it will try to make an live Monday (I just wish that due to my Time zone, it don't came too late for me (that could be just awful)).

For Quills, I don't knows, it mostly play card games these lasts days, so I have no idea on his side.

Also,@Amplitude, do you plan to made another OpenDev? I got lucky enought to get the live, the other day, but not enought to get over 97%, for the avatars, notably for those streamers who may have just forget to plan an live for the game.

Yeah I really hope we get another shot at getting those avatars without having to rely on those streamers schedules and whims.

And next time please work with people that actually care.

I'd rather have some small time streamers that actually care than big names that don't care at all about humankind.

That is why Amplitude during both Lucy and Victor OpenDev in their last streams activated all drops on their Twitch streams. That way there was a fixed time/schedule we could all attempt to be present at and earn our drops.

I do agree however that simply add some streamers names and avatars based on their "size" should not be the only merit (and I don't think it is the only merit either), even if tempting from a marketing standpoint. Not to mention that almost everyone wants a Spiffing Brit AI avatar to play against. Elusive as he might be, I still think it was good to add him. My son and I just had to have a little Spiff virtual doll to play with (against) in the game, he he he !!! :P

Marbozir, Quill18 and GamerZakh was also fun for us to earn, as we have watched them for years. It was also fun to discover some creators that we had never watched before.

Also remember that the whole avatar thing was started and planned along time ago. Takes some effort and planning. Not to mention that Covid 19 has made it even trickier or take longer. Some steamers that was contacted and involved back then might have had this fallen to the back of their minds and not realizing it when it was later implemented. They might not check their mails daily, or miss it in the flood of mails they might get from various gaming companies. They might alreday have a couple of weeks schedule laid out on the stream schedule on Twitch when they get hit with that it's now going live with the avatar drops.

Most of the streamers though have been fairly active, some even VERY active like Marbozir (who usually only streams maybe once a week on twitch and mostly do youtube, has streamed alot of humankind during victor, he seems so happy and proud to have had his own avatar added, then again who wouldn't be, it was a joy to watch his reaction video on youtube of him announcing it), @quill18 (at least during lucy he was very active and that is when his avatar was added) and @GamerZakh, as well as BurkeBlack (again very active during lucy, as that was also when his avatar was added). I even managed to catch Lomadiah directly live and Lewis avatar drop from a Yogcast stream directly live during Lucy OpenDev.

Not to mention ALOT of streamers that do not haved any avatar that were very active and had drops activated for earning the OpenDev itself. Just to mention a few (just a tip of the iceberg) like @MordredViking, @2DKiri, @shenryyr,@Enigmaticrose4, @Venalis (who was very active during lucy at least, not sure under victor), @Munchie/Munch1e, @bokoen , Tastenhaur, CaptainPoulpyTVLordLambert_, @RepublicOfPlay, gamingnightly plus a bunch of others. Would be a long list if I name them all. Some streamed up until yesterday. There was no issue whatsoever to earn the 3 hrs of watching streamers play humankind to gain access to Victor OpenDev.

Also Cat has pointed out in Amplitude streams that this is NOT the last chance to earn the avatar drops. There will be many more oppportunities to earn them all is what was said in the streams by Cat, so don't lose Your hope on that.

I see this as a nice bonus we can unlock for the game. If it helps some creators to get some more attention, then that is fine with me. If it also gets Humankind some more attention and stream time, then I only see that as good.

Call me a pessimist, but I highly doubt it, as the game will be released in August and we are, already in May. That thing alone don't give them enough time for making another Open Dev. After all, these drops was, mainly, maked for marketing purpose, so I don't think we will be able to obtain them again.

Another OpenDev I'm not sure about either. Unless the game release gets pushed back again. Which I'm all for if needed to make a better game for release. They have not promised another OpenDev either.

However I think Cat also said in a stream that there will be more opportunities. I even think Cat said after release. I'm too lazyu to sit and watch though alot of streams just to find ithat, so do not take it as gospel or a promise, since I can't verify it atm.

There will definetly be more streams, as Amplitude streams every Thursday I think it is (acctually right now, as I'm typing this, they are streaming endless space 2 dlc, dark matter) and I'm sure there will be streams both by Amplitude as well as the creators when Humankind is released. That Humankind drops will be enable during those streams I would say is a high probability.

Edit: Newsflash !!! CONFIRMED by both Cat and Rogan in the current stream, as they replied to me that Humankind drops will be back and is an ongoing thing. Just maybe not drops for Humankind in an Endless Space 2 stream, but in future Humankind streams for sure.

I hope that will ease Your mind and anyone else who missed drops this round. :)

Edit2: The stream video is now up for watching at Your own convenience. If go this link: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1013192479 Then go to 1:13:00 into the video and start watching from there, You will hear Cat and Rogan reply and talk about, plus confirm, that Humankind drops will be back and is an ongoing thing. They talk about it somewhere between 1:13:00 to around 1:14:30 into the video.

@satorn824 You could try reach out to Amplitude/Humankind with a reply to this Tweet, link: https://twitter.com/humankindgame/status/1404454139887861763

At least that is what they ask Twitch streamers to do in that Tweet. Hope that is of help !!! :)

Living in Australia it's almost impossible to catch any of these streams :(

These do appear to be only unlockable by folks who live in certain time zones. Quill18 broadcasts live at 1am where I live so there's almost no chance that I'll be able to unlock his. Just imagine, you're cutting out almost the entire asian game market from your content by doing this.

Here comes a serious suggestion, Amplitude. I get that you want to reward your streamers in this way. I 100% approve, it's a great move. However, gamers are going to want to get some of these avatars for their game and won't be able to, not because they are too stupid or lazy to do so but because these streamers broadcast in the wee hours of the morning where some of us live. Some of us even have jobs, families etc and don't stay up all night to do this sort of thing anymore. We're sufficiently responsible to make sure we're able to function when we show up for work and curiously irresponsible enough to waste our money on 'games' and expect to get the full package.

So, here's the suggestion. Why don't you allow folks to download these without the restrictions after the game has launched to a global audience? I've been around long enough to know how folks are going to react when they find that there a load of official avatars that are locked away and almost impossible for some to get access to. It's not going to be pretty and you'll get hurt more than you'll gain as a result.

@Myrkr @Kutuzov and @GregoryT You can also try and catch the official Amplitude Streams on Twitch on Thursday, link: https://www.twitch.tv/amplitudestudios

Usually during thes events they activate the drops for all avatars/personas at once during those streams. At least WHEN and IF they stream about Humankind. I would guess they will do that this Thursday 17th of June. It would be strange if they don't as it's during this Humankind Closed Beta event.

Check their stream schedule here, link: https://www.twitch.tv/amplitudestudios/schedule

It is on Thursdays 18.00 CEST / 16.00 GMT.

Not exactly sure what times that will be in Australia (could be 02:00 am friday, the middle of the night betwen thursday and friday and unfortunetly maybe not a good time for you then either, but I'm not sure about the timezone). Maybe You can just start the channel and the stream and go back to sleep ??? Make sure Your PC do not go into slumber mode while having the stream open. At least You can earn all avatrs at once then (if amplitude stream do as they have done before).

I hope You can figure it out and hopefully that stream will suit You better. :)

Edit: Acctually, in todays stream about Endless Dungeon @The-Cat-o-Nine-Tales wrote in the chat that they will be streaming Humankind on Thursday, so Humankind drops will most likely be activated too then.

I do have pre-ordered Humankind and watch hours of streamers playing the game with drops enabled (I even got the beta access again). But the avatars appears not unlocked. Is there another thing to do? Twitch / Steam / G2G accounts are all linked

I have 7 of the avatars claimed on my Twitch Drops Inventory page, but only 5 available to me in-game. The two that are unavailable are Lewis (Yogscast) and TheSpiffingBrit which I unlocked today. Stragely though, I also unlocked Zerator soon after them and his avatar became available to me as soon as I checked.

Should I be worried? is there anything I screwed up on my end of the claiming process? Pls help...

@Taraskeskro and @Djinzie Did You also remember to claim them properly on Twitch ??? Look in Your Twitch accounts drops inventory/stock just to make sure, link: https://www.twitch.tv/drops/inventory

They should appear under "Retrieved" if propelry claimed and unlocked. It should look something like this (image below).

If they are there and Claimed/Retrieved then try to refresh/resync Your games2Gether account with Your Twitch Account. You can find that option under Your Games2Gether account settings.

After that refresh/resync You Games2Gether Account with Your steam account as well, just to be sure. You can find that under Your Games2Gether profile.

As for the latest "Frankie" avatar. It should be automatically unlocked for all participating in this Closed Beta and not need a drop to be acessible. At least that is what one of the higher-ups at Amplitude said in discord on Tuesday when the question was asked.

Also remember that You must be connected at the startscreen of Humankind with Your Games2Gether account to have access to the special AI avatars/personas, if not they will appear with a lock beside them. So being in "online mode" on Steam is a must for that. If play on Steam in "offline mode" You will only have access to the regular AI portraits/personas.

I expect I'll be creating my own avatars for my games but I will admit that your Quill18 avatar is so uncannily like the guy that I would like to have it in my game if possible. It appears it will not. Too bad but it's not a big deal for me.

However, something like this WILL be a big deal for some of your customers and it's honestly a PITA to earn these especially if you don't live in a western time zone. It seems like it's not all that easy for folks who live in the time-zone friendly areas to get them either. I hope you're prepared for the fun you're going to have after the release. I'm sure no-one will give you negative reviews because you have avatars that are inaccessible for some players. Steam strategy gamers are well-known for being so reasonable. :D
