Hi

Please help with understanding the civic:

  1. Stability loss is negative effect. -X% to negative effect is a good thing: city loses stability slower. Is it correct or for native English speakers it means opposite?
  2. Anyway, second benefint nullifies first one because -X +X = 0. What logic is behind the civic?
  3. What conditions trigger +-13% / +-33% ? Each turn after activating the civic? If so then what reason could be to vote for Free Arts if it will drain all your stability in 3 turns? And even for Censored Arts to do it s little bit slower.

Thanks in advance.

The civic give you an advantage : when you loose stability, you loose it slower.

But the civic give you also a disavantage : when you gain stability, you gain it slower.

The civic don't apply on the stability value, only on the speed.

You can see in game, when your stability is 90, but you get so many malus it become 10.

The stability don't lower to 10 in one turn. It slowly decrease until it reach the new value.

The civic overall seems a bit underwhelming currently. Neither option is very good, but they do have their advantages.

Faster gain/loss is good if you currently are on low stability and expect to gain stability soon, as you will reach the higher stability threshold quicker and thus gain the benefits of that quicker as well (High stability means you gain more influence from your population count)

Slower gain/loss is good if you have high stability but expect to lose a lot of stability soon, as you will reach low stability much slower, giving you time to build stuff that increases stability.

Neither option is all that useful, because the bonuses are very situational and temporary.

For example +10 food per attached territory is good for the entire length of the game. The rate at which you gain/lose stability is only important if you're gaining/losing stability. If you're comfortably at 100% stability it doesn't do anything, and in the late-game you're expected to be at 100% stability unless something really brutal is going on.

It's also about presentation of Stability at the game. If I don't see what affects speed of Stability's change then I also won't see if I affect it with the Civic.

Before I adopt "Censored Arts", stability loss per turn was -5.

After I adopt it, the speed is still same -5.

Shouldn't it have been -4?

EDIT) One more thing. I added "Forfeiture" Civic (another -20% stability loss per turn). However, speed is still -5, instead of -3.

EDIT) Seems to be a bug. I posted a bug report on this.
