Humankind mechanics - dont make another "Endless clone"

As the title says, I have been long waiting for a game that blends a huge worldmap that is completely buildable yet with strategic battle/combat elements (the best game ever would have total-war style combat on a seamless campaign map). A game that blends civilization style empire building with "Banished" or even "Age of Empires" style city building with Total War style combat. This might seem impossible of course; and yes this game has never been made yet. Whoever creates this game will claim ownership of a multi-genre empire however and if Humankind is attempting to be that game, I beg you: dont just clone Endless games and slap on a human historical re-texture.

While I am sure we are all big fans of Endless games here - the reason Endless games are not held up to the likes of Civilization and Total War (and your sales show for it) is because the Endless mechanics of the gameworld are too simple; too mundane.

Your worlds are full of great lore, backstory, the music is amazing, the UI is brilliant --- but your game mechanics are far too simple to keep players locked in for longer than a few games, a few months, at most a year.

I have played all Endless games and immensely enjoyed them for what they are; however they eventually all get uninstalled.

What games have NEVER been uninstalled on my PC gaming rigs - since I started gaming 20+ years ago?

Games like Civilization, Total War, Mount&Blade, Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis.....

Why? Because they have complexity and depth which creates replayability and a massively bigger draw / emotional attachments / desire to "build another empire better this time".

Endless has amazing diversity in its species/races etc but the DEPTH isnt there.

The game is overly simplified.

We play a few games, the most hardcore of us even try every race/species/etc at least twice, but then we are done with the game.

There arent many mods created for these games either, because the game core mechanics just dont facilitate the depth and complexity to allow modders (I am a longtime hardcore modder for many games) to build our own systems, worlds, overhauls, etc.

Really really love your games, love how you run the company and engage with community - and REALLY want to see you build an epic. A true magnum opus.

Your steam page says Humankind is your magnum opus.

I am worried it just another "Endless clone" with new textures.

If you are not building a complete overhaul of the GAME CORE and its mechanics, it will be just that.

I wish for more, and I wish for you to make it, and benefit from creating it.

I think your company is in the perfect sage now with the experience to do this.

Here's one longtime fan since your first game release saying I'll play your game no matter what, but if you can understand the depth, complexity, and multi-genre aspect of 4x + RTS + TBS + city/empire-builder and put all that together in one seamless experience; you will be making a game that lasts forever and puts your company where it belongs at the top of all-time game creators ever.

You have the ingredients!

Wishing you the best!
