In Enless Space 2 planet's population is divided into nations with different bonuses. Could be cool, if in Humankind city population will be divided into different classes: slaves, peasants, priests, nobles, merchants, soldiers, workers etc.

So, for example, slaves can work only on farms or mines, clerics - can increase science or influence. If you wish to have more slaves - you can conquer opponent's city. If you wish more money, or you can sell your slaves to another player (in fact you can sell or buy your city's population). In case of adopting Serfdom or Caste System, the number of peasants or other classes will be fixed, but you will have some bonuses from them. Socialism will eliminate nobles, merchants and priests. Capitalism will increase income from merchants.

I think it's more interesting, than social politics in Civilization series, which in fact is just abstract bonuses.

I like that idea :) That was one of the good mechanic in ES 2, could be nice to see it again in HK

I just hope this game doesn't get polluted by political correctness. Respect history, restore what happened before, not delete the history.

I like your idea BTW.

The idea is entertaining, but seems too detailed at the current scale of HK. I could definately see a poor/middle/rich class split as appropriate to scale.

What sort of interface would "class actions" have? A politics button? Interactions on the city screen?

Yeah, I know, devs cannot implement it now. That's more like an idea for the future big expansion.

Besides, I feel like we still don't know the current scale of Humankind's mechanics. I believe, it's rich enough, but in case of interfaces we saw only main screen, choose-a-nation screen, concept of Fame screen and a couple of little windows.

Well, for now it's quite hard to say for Humankind interface, but in case of Endless Legend it can be something like that on the city screen:

And maybe plus special screen for classes to interact with them (like nation's screen in Endless Space 2)

I really like your idea, the population will be definitly more alive.

I have always considerated population as you said like "bonus".  To me their just numbers and shows cross-border growth.

It might be interesting to have new random events implying  caste system - after all our societies have their own caste system which had destroy or build them.

Imagine making bad choices that will lead you to civil war and force you to become a dictator or right ones that gives you more influence on the international scene.

Your civilisation could be have some titles according to your choices and way to play (as "pro-slavery", "Religious" ) and your titiles will increase or decrease your relationship with others. It could be very funny.
