I'm just writing this message since I love the Civ series, and I love playing with my country in Civ V especially but will I be able to create a Slavic/Polish or a Proto-Polish civilization in Humankind?

I already noticed that the foundation of creating Poland in Humankind is already there. There are the Protoslavic Geci (AKA "Getica" tribes, commonly known as "Goths" in modern times) and the Babylonians are also in the game, which is important since we did have some influences from that culture, even tho the vast majority of the people in the Middle Ages living in Poland were genetically nearly identical to the Goths.

Essentially I would like to recreate the ancient Sarmatia first and maybe have a nice epithet later as a ruler, like the the one Bolesła Chrobry used to have, you see he was known as the man who ruled the "Regni Sclavorum Gottorum sue Polanorum" - which means the "King/Kindom of Slavs Goths and Polans".

So it is nice to see that a grop which formed modern Poland (the Goths) are already in the game but will there be more tribes/civilzations added so that my nation can be more complete?

And another question, will the rulers get any cool epithets? So we can at least fill in those missing groups?

Hi Patrycjusz,

Well, so far, cultures/civilizations from Ancient Era, Classical Era and Medieval Era have all been revealed (there's one left to be revealed next week from Medieval Era).

Amplitude Studios reveals a culture/civilization every week on the Humankind Twitter account ( on Tuesdays, at 5:30 pm european time, generally) and there are 3 eras left to be covered (Early Modern Era, Industrial Era, Contemporary Era).

So I guess there are a lot of "suprises" to come in the next coming weeks :)

I'm not qute sure what you mean.

This game isin't out yet, so I was just asking about the mechanics but I think it was mentioned that you can make your own civilization from mixing and matching certain aspects from various base cultures? Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Esentially I just wanna play a very slavic Civilization starting from the Proto-Slavic groups of people that formed modern Poland such as Goths.

I'm not really interested in the Nordic/Saxonian/Germanic (in the Bismarckian sense) factions like the Teutonic knights, those guys got beaten by us Polish people in to none existence for a reason. It is nice that I'll have some baddies to fight but I'm not gonna play them. However I would like to play against them and make my own Grunvald.

Or will the Slavic people in later eras after the Goths just not be avalible? If so I'm just gonna wait for an expansion or something.

Hi Patricjusz,

I meant that there are still 30 cultures/civilizations to be revealed before the game's launch in 2021. Every era of the game lets you choose among 10 cultures/civilizations. So there's a certain amount of certainty that we'll see some slavic/polish cultures in the next coming reveals.

Quoted from your previous post : "I think it was mentioned that you can make your own civilization from mixing and matching certain aspects from various base cultures?"

Actually, you will be able to choose a new culture on every era (or keep the current one if you decide so), allowing you to add to your previous culture the bonuses, style, emblematic unit and quarter of that new culture.
