I noticed that Baldur's Gate 3 has twitch integration addon that allows viewers of a twitch stream to check character inventories, stats, and spells. I think something that makes 4X streams to watch for newbies is that experienced players will often quickly choose technologies or events after skimming the effects or stats if they remember what they are. It would be nice to have the ability to hover over, for example, the streamer's queued research and have a popup show the viewer what it does. Additionally, the ability to see city stats and other information may be very nice for making things digestable for newbies.

I totally undestand this isn't exactly a pressing concern but I believe it may be a boon to make streams more understandable in the end.

I agree! This is the type of game that could greatly benefit from that, it'd let people watching the streamer easily understand what's going on in the game. This could also serve as some sort of observer mode :)
