I have never really played Civilation 6 I have just heard of the ability to place map pins for city planning and such.

I find playing on especially a large map I will come across different areas that id like to expand for various reasons such as the strategic resources or a good location for tactical reasons, but as the game progresses and things get more complicated I can't remember all those location and the reasons I liked them in the first place.

I know the game already has "map markers" for 3 categories such as "attack" "defend" and "heads up" but it does not really help.  I find it so difficult to remember things especially when the game gets past turn 50 as there are so many different elements going on at the same time.

Sometimes I will see several locations across the map during my initial exploring phase but end up totally forgetting about them or forgetting why exactly I was eye balling that area in the first place, especially if it has many different variables as to why it looked good, such as tile yields, resources and terrain.

Does anyone have any tips on remembering all this information before something like "Strategy planning mode" could be added?  I thought about having a scout unit at that location and rename it something like "Possible outpost 15F/12I" that way I know that location is good for food and industry but the problem is that unit could be killed or if the AI claims that territory the unit will be trespassing and then killed and I would forget why I was eye balling that area in the first place.

I feel the ability to make little notations on the map would be a big help remembering and planning different things as the game progresses.  I am sure the Devs have much better ideas that my simple "making notations" hopefully there may be something on a Wishlist for this type of feature in an update?

Humankind is the first 4x game I have played and I absolutely love it but it gets very complex as it progresses and my brain can't keep track of everything :(

Thank you
