I had assumed airports allowed you to move armies from one airport to another just like how train stations can move armies from one to the next with only 1 movement cost. It even says in the description: "Permitting the rapid deployment of military resources..." This description is very misleading if it doesn't actually do that. As it stands now, only allowing air trade routes, the airports are completely worthless and just increase pollution, so no point in building them. Air trade routes are never used, by the time i get airports, i have already purchased nearly every luxury and/or resource, and if i hadn't I wouldn't bother to pay extra for the air route version.

Trade via the air is far less disrupted by military conflicts. Not never, but much more rarely.

It is possible to transport armies with the airports. When you move an army on an airport, you will get an action button ( like where ransack and such are located).

You press it and it will highlight your airports.

You then click on the airport you want to move to and it will transport the army for 1 movement point.

That's a hard to discover feature, thanks for enlightening me. It would be nice though that if you moved a unit via regular movement, it would automatically route through the airport system.

That's what I thought it would do, through the regular system (like Railroads)

I had the opposite problem, I moved my unit manually onto the train station, then it wandered off without using the trains! It should be one or the other, not airports work one way but trains work the other. That said, it's not really a high priority fix since both methods of transport do work.
