Real ICBM and Missiles on nuclear Submarine

If the game don't get it, could be nice to mod it.

The two ideas are :


ICBM : once you have done this test, the range of all your nuclear missile increase like crazy. +36 ! The goal is to launch the nuclear strike from home. It for that we make this so difficult ICBM test ! Remember that ICBM mean : Intercontinental ballistic missile. Where is the Intercontinental here ?


Nuclear Submarine : give it the ability to load missiles, like do the aircraft carrier with planes. The description say this Submarine use Nuclear Missiles, but we don't get it ? I tried, nothing. Or I did a missclick ? Something I missed ?

My idea for revising Nukes

Primary Goal

Make sure there is MAD ie once someone has nukes, the other major powers should rapidly get them


1. There seems to be an Event that is triggered whenever someone does a Fission Test that opens up the Nuclear Fission Technology/Nuclear Civic to other civs... that need to always trigger when someone else does a test.


2. When you get the fission test (only takes 1 Uranium..7 Tiles cleared out) you should get access to 2 Nuclear units

Nuclear Bomber (3700 Ind, 1 Oil, 1Aluminum, 1 Uranium, Range 16+4 per star)

Nuclear Missile  (7400 Ind, 1 Oil, 2Aluminum, 1 Uranium, Range 14+4 per star)... can be placed on a Nuclear Submarine/relocated

[strike radius of 2]

Fusion Test Unlocked AND ICBM Test unlocked


3.  Fusion Test (only takes 1 Aluminum. 2 Uranium, 19 Tiles cleared out) the Nuclear units have their strike range (damage radius) increased from 2 to 4


4. ICBM Test (only takes 1 Oil, 2 Aluminum, 1 Uranium, only 7 tiles cleared out) Nuclear Missiles that are launched from Silos have infinite range (or +200 range)


Then decrease the Pollution of missile Silos to 5, so you can make a massive attack

And -50% cost for Nuclear Units in Cities with a Nuclear Power Plant



The Reduced Industry cost and Resource cost means its easier to become a Nuclear Power

Yes. Nuclear Submarines being able to hold and launch nukes would be neat.

MAD is only assumed to work in Real Life; primarily due to the assumption the people with the Nukes care more about themselves not suffering through a possible man-made extinction level event of Humankind through Explosive Radiation.


And I am not sure if that's an assumption which can be made in this game. Someone who wants to have fun by launching nukes, assuming they can get to the point of launching nukes, is going to launch a nuke--sometimes regardless of what the other player thinks. And that's not even getting into the possible implication of players not wanting to suffer the consequences that would, allegedly, follow the fallout of the actions of mass nukage.


Of course, I've yet to see a multiplayer match where more that 1 person is at the point where they have one nuke in storage, so I think it's more important--at the moment--to ensure a way for more than one player in a match to get to being able to ensure nuclear retaliation.

They could counter-balance that aspect by, say, making the wasteland tiles contribute heavily to pollution or something. I've actually had some fun in recent games by challenging myself to reverse pollution in the late game by building lots of nature reserves, razing and rebuilding cities that have polluting infrastructures, etc. Nuking the AI was a great way to keep their pollution down, haha, but I feel like it shouldn't have been.
