In the [1.0.7.1764] "Allen Newell" update the following was added:  - Added movies when discovering specific technologies.

I find these movies to be extremely distracting and interfere with my playing the game, particularly when I have units I need to move or other player moves I want to watch.

I always esc-key out of them, but would appreciate not having extra nuisance tasks added to the game by the devs.

Is there any way I can disable these movies?

If not, can the devs undo this nuisance?

Potential Fix: Can we move these full-screen notifications to later in the list of turn actions?

The "Choose a Tenet" religion popup currently has a place in the "things to do this turn" queue, so maybe the other interrupting notifications like "Technology Researched" and "Stars Earned" should have a place in the queue so they don't interrupt the start of the turn.

I thought one of the recent updates is that the AI will not move until you do something. Does the movie count as "doing something"? If so, it should definitely be moved later or removed altogether (they're beautiful and nice to watch once or twice, but not a dozen times).

I tried that option without success, following steam instructions for starting a game with command options.

Can anyone else confirm that this option will do what I am looking for?

I love the cinematics and wish that there were more.

But I also hate that some of them interfere with gameplay.

How about having them function as notifications,

that need to be opened initiatively?

For example, the notification "Philosophy has been researched" could come with a little play button that starts the cinematic.

That way, we could view the marvelous videos when it is convenient for us.
