I would like to create and play against the personalities from Alpha Centauri. Is there any way to do this? I know we can download other personas, but can we play against them or create our own to play against?

I'm sure this could be an easy to bring QoL feature. Perhaps they were thinking that we would just import player avatars as a sense of community but I'd say this isn't too realistic of an approach vs many who couldn't care about personalities / random internet peeps. They definitely went with a more unconventional way to make custom AI.

Unconventional seems to be putting it lightly.

Are you suggesting that Superduche (an actual persona listed as created by the dev team) is not a real historical figure and rather an immersion breaking reminder that the internet is full of idiots I don’t want in my game?  How dare you. 

At present no. But we started this thread to encourage the devs to add it (I really want to make Ai avatars too!)

I'm suggesting if I want to make and play against the anti-superduche, I should be able to do so, instead of begging for another player to do it so I can then download it.

THANK YOU! Many things about this game are great, but this seems to be really odd. Even Alpha Centauri let you edit leader's personalities, and that was literally 22 years ago.

Sorry if my sarcasm didn't come thru or was off-putting.  I'm with you 100%.  They created this interesting persona system and with all these AI levers to pull, and then they don't let you play with them.  For a game that takes itself so seriously and is considered by devs to be their magnum opus, why they would think it's a good idea to force the character names to be people's forum handles is beyond me.  It's a terrible design decision and completely immersion breaking, and I hate it.  I hope it is one of the first changes they make.

Yeah the official HK discord gets a similar question about making your own A.I personas every 30 minutes it seems so I hope the devs are taking notice and will let us make our own Gandhis in the near future. A good chunk of the negative reviews on steam were complaining about the A.I being unpredictable too so it would really win them back some goodwill post launch.

Heck the only thing I can think of that would come close for fan requests would be more hairstyles, clothes, and poses for the character editor which would also tie into the fact that people just wanna have their own Crusader Kings type of ruler customization without having to get personas through G2G.

I got the sarcasm, and I second it! Seriously, they should put in a system first conceived in 4X games nearly 25 years ago.

I would love the ability to create other AI personas, and also have the game randomly generate personas!
