Many people are dissatisfied with the United States being too weak in the game, but they refuse to say it directly. They can only say that the United States should not be an expansionist. In the post discussing that the United States should not be an expansionist, comments that do not conform to community norms are everywhere. Therefore, I decided to open a post to consider only how to strengthen the American culture in this game.

To tell the truth, it's foolish to forcibly classify cultures, especially various cultural types have different skills. Many of these combinations are strange. For example, the Zhou Dynasty can create patriotic works to ensure ideological unity, and has great diplomatic influence on other vassal states and city states. Or if Harappa and England attract immigrants, North Korea can be the first to industrialize. This is obviously not in line with historical facts, but it is for the sake of playfulness. But the difference between the United States lies not only in its compliance with seven attributes, but also in the existing seven bonuses. You can say that the United States did not do this at some time, but it did it in American history. Patriotic works, cutting-edge technology, attracting immigrants, large projects, sophisticated militias, cheap imports and high-priced exports, the use of small arms and funds to encourage regional independence and fall to the United States, all of which are self-evident.

It has to be balanced, but also it has to highlight the fact that, like it or not, USA has been the strongest nation for the last 100 years.

Legacy Trait - American Exceptionalism with its + 1 money on ongoing trade and + 10 influence on resources being sold is the right idea, as USA does trade and  a lot but it's WAY too weak. Lets say you have 100 trade routes... that's 100 gold, which is like a drop in the bucket by the end game. It should be like + 5-10 gold + 5 science per trade route. Maybe more gold I don't have the math breakdown, but it should be a number of gold that gives America a large income advantage over say, the Soviets. If the Soviets have such insane combat bonuses America needs to be filthy rich.  As a side note, currently in game trade does not generate a lot of money... it needs a buff.

The unique building also sucks, and needs a buff. I'd change it to "Military Base" (pending more interesting name) Can be built in your territory, or allied territory. (just like the British building for vassal) In your territory it provides + money + science and +combat bonus to units built in the city (number to be determined) This would represent the money stationed troops bring in, and the science developing weapons brings in. In Allied territory, it would do what it does now, give a combat bonus to units in and next to the territory it is in, as well as give a money bonus to the ally.

As a negative, maybe it can give a - 20 stability bonus empire wide per Military Base built (mad left wingers) So, it would be a powerful building but come at a price.

Choosing America should be for someone who wants a good balance of wealth, influence, and science and the ability to fight if needed. The unit is right on target but the way stealth works is dumb... can attack people without them knowing who did it? What? Little unfair. Should be like it was in Civ, minus chance to be intercepted, or reduced damage taken when intercepted.

If the balance is too bad, people will choose other games.

No, because just like you hate the USA and don't want to play as the USA, some of us like it, and don't want to play as someone who has powerful in game bonuses but we don't like. All the choices should be viable. As far as bonuses go, IMO Soviets are best by miles (needs to be nerfed, or everyone else buffed) but I don't want to play as them because I don't like backwards R vodka swilling commies, just as you don't like fat arrogant Americans.

First of all, I think you should stop complaining emotionally. Secondly, the Soviet Union is not strong, because the unified mainland only needs 50 rounds of standard speed and Egyptian nobles riding archers.

I love playing the USA. In fact, chances are you're steam rolling by late game anyway and the culture you pick would be less influential.

All the US need are the F-22s and an ability that allows you to purchase nukes at half price or something. They love nukes.

You need to look at the cultures again. Simple example: your Soviets get -20% unit cost, the Australians get 20% boost to all industrial production.

You need to look again. They also get +3 combat strength on unit AND the arms factories can make them even stronger still. There is a post on this form saying a guy got +20 str on Soviet units. So, Soviets vs Australians same tech level, Soviets have all their units (Ill low ball this) + 10 str. Good luck.
