So, I'm sure this has been said before, but one major flaw is the lack of an option to change or remove the turn limit. This is the only thing my friend group is really waiting on. We are long time players of games like Civ and this is probably the one thing keeping us from playing more Humankind. Yes, we know you can continue after, but it doesn't feel the same and from my understanding you can't get achievements after this point.

Good news for you (AND for me too), an update should be out in a week or two that allows specific adustments to game settings, including win conditions; including # of turns (and I for one will be playing on Normal and no turn limits, but all other "endings" on).

Yes !! I would like options to slower eras too. My first Idea was it need to get more stars to change era.

Now I have a better idea : you need at least 1 star of each kind to change era. So, it's 7 stars, but 1 in everything minimum.

Number of turns / Eras stars / Techs... All of this is interwined. As the goal of the game is to be the one with most fame, the game should allow to fully play all eras. And the most difficult is to play a good game on contemporary era. Just because the balance of the game is very difficult to set with these 3 parameters. For example, when I was testing the Fabius Beta patch, I could get Contemporary era, but without the tech, and the turn limit hapenned before I can play this era game (no modern units). There is always something missing. With previous version, I had not to much turn limit problem (but still, it was too short), but I was too much in the new era without the tech, or too much tech without the era (with collective mind cheat).

Genuine question, what do you even do after the limit? Everything that can be done can be done within the limit.
