Devs, please listen to us. The lack of any option to speed up unit movement animations outside of battle makes this game nigh-on-unplayable at high levels. Trust me when I say that this game will be DOA in multiplayer and, for many people, even single player if this isn't rectified in time for release.

Now as an aside before I say this - I do genuinely enjoy the neolithic era so I'm not asking for that to be changed. Perhaps it might be better if it takes a little more food to acquire scouts, but the overall concept of the gameplay is great. That is not the issue here. (Although another minor point - I found it far, far too easy to ransack all the neolithic AI's outposts, and this is on 'serious' difficulty. I can see this making the game a lot easier overall so might be something to look into.)

By about turn 10 I've got about 8 scout units through seeking food in the neolithic era. Having this many units scouring the map through fairly normal gameplay, combined with suuuuuch slow movement animations, slows the gameplay down to a horrible, tedious crawl. It feels strange to say this, considering how much promise Humankind has shown and how excited I've been for it, but I'm genuinely unable to enjoy the game as it is currently. I play for a maximum of about 20 minutes before I find myself bored, exhausted, and wanting to do something else.

I really cannot see any reason whatsoever why a simple unit movement speed slider can't be added to the game, similar to the battle animation slider. Although for what it's worth, I'll add that even battle animations, which do have a setting, are still far too slow even at max.

PS. Please, no comments saying "just set your scouts to auto-explore". It's simply not how 4X games are played at a high level.
