In this OpenDev, the Granary doesn't become available until the Early Modern Era.  (What I would relabel the Renaissance.)  That's wwwwaaaayyyyyy too late.  The ANCIENT Egyptians had granaries for Pete's sake.

If the problem is that it's too powerful, then weaken it.  In Truth, the primary reason for building granaries is to alleviate the effects of famine.  So unless they plan to introduce that kind of event, there really wouldn't be any Granary effects.  (A granary doesn't provide MORE food for the citizens to consume.  It's purely for storage, just in case the extra is needed.  As in, a famine is occurring.)

We must have different games then.  Yes, you can BUILD it in the Ancient Era.  But you can't USE it until the Early Modern Era.  (Next time you play, take a closer look at the red text on the Granary panel.)  To clarify, you can't use the Granary until you have researched the Supply Line tech.... which is sooooo far up the tech queue, a player would have an extremely hard time finishing researching it until well into the Early Modern Era.

You should pay closer attention to the tooltip. It shows that the next upgrade to the granary infrastructure in the tech tree is in the Early Modern era. The Granary is usable once you have built it in your city, you don't need to research Supply Lines to get it.

As you can see here, the red text is talking about the next infrastructure of the Grain Storage family, Grain Silos.

As a player I don't expect to have any important information (since it is red in color) relating to something that I haven't yet been able to build. From my point of view this information is not in its place and I propose to delete it or else to just specify (and not in red font) the era in which the following construction will be produced.

What ^he said.  The notation on that panel _should_ address THAT panel, which in this case is the Granary.

Hmm.  I just noticed.  I was looking at the Granary panel in the Ancient Era.  (Whereas your example was taken from Medieval.)  Can't remember the exact wording, but it indicated that the whatever isn't unlocked until the Supply Lines tech was researched.

Hmm again.  I'm going to have to take a closer look at ALL of those red text techs.  There's at least a dozen that I never built because the way the red text read, it seemed like they would be non-functional until a future tech was researched.  Now, it seems, ALL that red text was referring to the next level of the tech in question.

In truth, what this is is bad grammar.  Like, "Fred and Ted went on a trip.  He had a good time."  Which "he" is the author referring to?
