[Feedback] Surrender Terms Need Better UI

When forcing or accepting Surrender Terms, most of outposts and Territories that belong to certain Cities are displayed. Here are some examples:

As you can clearly see here, most of terms are not intuitive. Especially when Cities control more than one Territory, or when dealing with Outposts, it is nearly impossible to pin-point which one is this Territory on the map.

Therefore I suggest that there should be a small button on each term just like those from Trade tab:

So, proper Surrender Terms should look like this.

Clicking the button should teleport my view to respective Territory, with the Territory outline highlighted with vivid colour. In this way, we would be able to quite easily identify which Territory is the one being dealt in Surrender Terms.

It also happens that for some reason it looks like th AI wants to surrender, yet the player is the one to give up everything. One have to be very cautious with the surrender button.

I failed to understood why this could cause a misconception based on the UI.

I'd suggest a tutorial or help text about the diplomacy screen when at war.  E.g., a note that your war score will be converted to cash unless you make demands.  I had captured the opponents only city, and ended the war.  It wasn't obvious that I needed to make demands for the city I occupied to retain it.  Once you know, it's not hard to remember, but it's not obvious the first time.

I think this is a very good idea too. It would make dealings in diplomacy much more easier.

Excellent Idea: in general I dont think players memorize the name of their cities, regions, outposts especially when captured from the enemy or belonging to the enemy so listing them by name is reeally irrelevant.

What is most relevant is the position of the asset on the map as proposed above it shoudl be put into center and highlighted

Other relevant info are pop count, economic output, units located on them and trade routes connected - name is useless and can only serve as an ID but not evne as a unique ID as several cities might have the exact same name :)

I think a Paradox style peace treaty menu, where the map is part of the UI of it, would make sense.

Ah yes that is also a clever way to implement it.

Is it just me or is it impossible to cancel a surrender? The "cancel" button is always greyed out... I want to keep fighting!

That is simply because your opponent has totally lost the capacity to continue its war effort. Looks at its War Support. If War Support reaches 0, then there is only one option available: unconditional surrender(in this case force surrender).

By the way, this thread was for old Open Dev days, and is disclosed. Please use other threads.
