I pre-purchased the game to play the closed beta. After linking my account, I see that the closed beta is windows only. The game itself is advertised to work on mac as well, and I didn't see any mention of the closed beta being windows only. Will mac support come for the closed beta as well?

Unfortunately, the answer is NO. As of closed-beta, Stadia and Mac version is not supported. Their versions will be available at the official launch.

Unfortunately, the problem is once again imprecise communication. Unfortunately, Amplitude hasn't learned since the last OpenDev. It is announced as a Steam/Epic beta, but only means Windows.

The FAQ is fairly clear about the OpenDev only being available on Windows

In videos advertising the presale, it was and is concealed. The open beta video says Steam and Epic, not Windows. Maybe the FAQ is enough to legally protect Amplitude themself, but eventually someone will read it if you have no access despite Steam version against expectations.

If it affects a drop, so be it. They're free. But: I pre-purchased the game as a Mac user and could not participate in any OpenDev on a Mac. Amplitude owns the money for a long time and give other persons content, not me. Now you can't change that, but still, Amplitude Studios could have said that from the beginning.
