Very quick tip on how to create a .png image of your map's elevation (it's the same image that you see when you save the map in the Map Editor):

Steps:

1) Decompress your *.hmap file (using a tool like 7zip, unzip, etc)

2) Open up Descriptor.hmd in a text editor

3) Locate the line that starts with: "<Picture Length...."

4) Copy the Base64 text string from within the angle brackets

5) Use a Base64 to PNG online converter (e.g. https://base64.guru/converter/decode/image/png)

Note: It's only going to give you a small (300×180) 8bit png image.  You may want to edit it to make it higher quality/resolution

@Amplitude devs: We need a whole map export feature (with options to show elevation, resources, etc, etc) from within the editor, please :)

That's all folks :)

Can you not just screengrab the Map Editor "Save As..." MetaData and then just crop the image?

Or is this a different image?

Should be the same, also note that the actual Elevation map data (and terrain types) are in the <ElevationTexture.Bytes> section in Save.hms
