The Mac version unfortunately had to be delayed a few weeks, as we are not satisfied with its stability and performance. We have announced this about 2 weeks ago in our Progress Report blog.

I have the same problem.  The download folder only has subfolders "Poster" and "Soundtrack", totaling 245.6 MB.

Ah okay, thought it wouldn't download from Steam on Mac if the Mac version wasn't available. Thanks for clearing that up. Excited to see it launch in Mac.

I just purchased this game for Mac on Steam and there was no indication I could find on the purchase screen that I would not be able to play the game... It's being presented there as "ready" and playable. Based on the comments above, this has been going on for month now. Did I just purchase a game presented as ready to play but without any indication of when it will actually be ready to play?

We’d also like to let you all know that the Mac version will be postponed about one month.

So it should be available around mid/end of september I suppose.

Just a question, why the mac version is available on steam.

Once i've bought & see it doesn't work, i made my research and discover it's postponed ? 

Suggest you to make things in the good order ....

Share your frustration... we are 4 days away from the month point so hopefully we hear something soon... Amplitude, show us Mac users some love....

It was a major letdown when I purchased the game only to find I had to wait another month for the Mac version (and it was hard to find!). Any news on the progress there?? Any hopes of an ARM optimised version?

The latest beta 1.0.3.248 was released for mac, which was announced on steam. I guess the stable version 1.0.3.253 will work now, too.

I can't get this game to work on PC - so switched it to the Mac version 

still getting same issue however now it says :

An error occurred while updating HUMANKIND tm (missing Executable) :

Then points me to a location in my libary folder and when I browse to the steam apps - common - humankind       There is no files within this folder

Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Any ideas people ?

I think you still need to opt-in for the Mac beta instead of the regular version. 

Any update on this, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall... am i missing something?

You need to turn beta builds on.
