I get the same thing. Never had this happen through any testing prior to launch.

Try deleting the C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Humankind folder. I did this and it resolved the issue.

I had the Unity crash report every time I start a new game. Fixed lowering the quality of graphics in main menu before starting a new game. 2070 super, i7 9700K and 16GB RAM, if change to better quality if crashes again. Hope they fix it soon.

Doesn't work for me to delete the files any other way ? other fix? it's annoying. I am on xboxgame pass.

Hey, me too, same problem after the Sega lunchvideo, it's blocked at 90% on the loading, not on the beta Edition and files in documents deleted (i have reinstall direct X and reboot my computer, verify the game cache, delet, reinstall the game, run as admin) I Wanna play please help me !!! :)

I'm really disappointed. I get the unity thing every time.

I've tried everything and people keep posting the same stuff. 

I wasn't part of any beta or any other downloads prior to the game. I also delete the folder - but appears after crashing again

@Olias @Xuilius @Swoo95 What resolution do you play on? I have 4K monitor - maybe that's the problem?

I have tried with 2k(144hz) 4k 1080p.

I'm on 4k - one person said they changed the graphics and it worked. I'm really bad with tech though. Not sure how else I'd try

Ok I tried my old screen and it didn't work. Also tried to window it and also lower graphics. Nothing. Sad times

This worked for me, though I didn't get the crash window. It was just a black screen that closed itself when opening Humankind from Steam

got the same error message when i tried to start a new game from game menu.

I got the game on steam but what fixed it for me was deleting the epic games launcher....

Looks like some dlls are shared weirdly between the game and epic games?

For the devs: maybe thats a starting point to look into.

For me the game crashes, when I load into a save or change any resolution or graphics settings. I was on open dev 1 last July. I deleted my humankind folder in docs and anything relating to open dev. No joy. Will try deleting epic game store ( don’t really want to as playing Troy ) and report back. It’s so frustrating that games release with these issues. We just want to play. We don’t want to spend hours / days looking for a fix for products that should just.., Work. 

Nothing is working for me I’ve updated my graphics drivers, deleted epic games, deleted all files relating to human kind open dev. It just crashes constantly. 

I solved it by deleteing all with refrence of Humankind in appdata removing the documents/humankind folder and reinstalling the game....

Have deleted all files relating to the game am just reinstalling to see if that fixes it for me too. 

Nope even worse for me, I can’t even begin a game now… 

Same problem. Game crashes on start. Not in any beta or whatnot. Deleted the folder, but nothing. Worked fine yesterday, but after the automatic steam update today, it won't launch.
