I have the same problem. every time I boot up the game it loads a little bit and the crashes. I've deleted the files. Verified the files, uninstalled and reinstalled. And I've even boot up my pc in safe mode to see if something else was blocking it. But nope, still crashes

I'm using epic

@Olias @Xuilius @Swoo95 What resolution do you play on? I have 4K monitor - maybe that's the problem?

I'm on 4k - one person said they changed the graphics and it worked. I'm really bad with tech though. Not sure how else I'd try

Update

Ok I tried my old screen and it didn't work. Also tried to window it and also lower graphics. Nothing. Sad times

No, i play on 1980x1080

Hello,

Happened to me after a game freeze&crash. No report, deleting files didn't help, neither did updating drivers, nor checking files integrity through Steam.

But simply restarting Steam did ! I can play again. Hope this can help some of you.

This worked for me, though I didn't get the crash window. It was just a black screen that closed itself when opening Humankind from Steam

I don't have any "Humankind" folders in C:/Users/username/Documents. But I still am not able to launch the game. I have Humankind folder in Users/[username]/AppData/LocalLow/Amplitude studios, but deleting it did not help.

Hey,

got the same error message when i tried to start a new game from game menu.

I got the game on steam but what fixed it for me was deleting the epic games launcher....

Looks like some dlls are shared weirdly between the game and epic games?

For the devs: maybe thats a starting point to look into.

For me the game crashes, when I load into a save or change any resolution or graphics settings. I was on open dev 1 last July. I deleted my humankind folder in docs and anything relating to open dev. No joy. Will try deleting epic game store ( don’t really want to as playing Troy ) and report back. It’s so frustrating that games release with these issues. We just want to play. We don’t want to spend hours / days looking for a fix for products that should just.., Work.

Nothing is working for me I’ve updated my graphics drivers, deleted epic games, deleted all files relating to human kind open dev. It just crashes constantly.

I solved it by deleteing all with refrence of Humankind in appdata removing the documents/humankind folder and reinstalling the game....

Same problem. Game crashes on start. Not in any beta or whatnot. Deleted the folder, but nothing. Worked fine yesterday, but after the automatic steam update today, it won't launch.

This worked. Thanks. Seems to be an issue if you played the Beta earlier.
