When are we getting a fix for the Unity Crash at loading?

Tons of people reporting this issue.  I have tried every posted fix and then some.  My laptop is brand new, top-end and runs every game except this one.  Am not inclined to send any more diagnostic files anywhere.

This needs to get fixed.  Or I need a refund (which I am going to have to fight for, since Steam shows me at 4+ hours "played."  Played in this case means stating at a loading screen which inevitably crashes out).

Please give us some idea of how long we need to wait for a fix.

Fully agree, I have tried all of the fixes and none of them worked. At least given us an answer how much we need to wait

Check if you have one of these software installed:

Nahimic
Sonic Sound 2
Sonic Suite
Razer Chroma (and possibly Synapse)

Other constructors audio manager

Thank you for the response.  No, I don't have any of those programs installed.

I do have something called "Dell PremierColor", which appears to be some sort of display adaptor/overlay that allows for display color management.  Have not tried disabling that yet.......

[EDIT:  Tried disabling the Dell PremierColor" app and still getting the loading crash].

Can you try to launch the game with the bare minimal programs running on your computer ? 8GB is the minimum RAM for the game, and while it supposely shouldn't be an issue as your swap file should handle too much RAM being used... we never know what the OS can do.

Alternatively, you could also try to make that swap file bigger.

I'm encountering the same "Unity-crash-to-desktop-on-startup" issue since I tried to start up the game today...

I've been able to play the game before (ever since I got it on August, 17th), though, and I didn't change anything system- or game-wise.

Oh, and yes, I'm using the following software:

- Sonic Sound 2

- Sonic Suite

- Razer Central

And no, dissabling any (and / or all of them) doesn't make any difference, I tried that already, and I'm still getting the "Unity-ctd-error".

(I'm not going to uninstall any of them, since I've made same really bad experiences with meddling with system-related software in the past. Non of the aforementioned software is uncommon, either.)

Any ideas?

@nonliquet

These softwares shouldn't cause issues if you didn't updated them (but they tend to update themselves). They started to behave badly since an update they rolled out on the 7 of july. They basically break every game running with Wwise (a very common sound engine). Game developpers in general can't do anything about it, as these softwares inject themselves on your game, we're just all waiting for a fix from them.

Are you playing on Steam ? If so, did you manually activated the Epic overlay link ? Did you verified your game files ?

I can't do much other than throwing out ideas if i don't have your diagnostics file.

Hi, all. If this is the same issue that I briefly experienced yesterday, I was able to resolve it by removing the "-force-vulkan" command on Steam. Hope that fixes it for y'all too.

OK......so this seems to have actually worked.  At least, the game loaded for the first time in 2 days.  Thanks!  Let's see if it lasts.

Did your overcloacked your GPU with software ? (like MSI afterburner)

Are you GPU drivers up to date ? If so, can you try to reinstall them?

Your issue is basically Unity failing to communicate properly with your GPU.

I've no idea how to overclock my GPU, so no.  My drivers are up to date, but I've not tried re-installing them.

Getting rid of "-force-vulkan" seems to have at least made my game start loading again.  Let's see how this goes.........

I could solve the "Unity-ctd-error" by actually deinstalling the following software:

- Sonic Sound 2

- Sonic Suite

The game is starting up without any problems again, and I've been playing for a while now.

Thanks to Astamarr for the help!

So I've now managed to load, quit, re-load, and play more after getting rid of the "-force-vulkan" fix.  Perhaps this needs to be re-examined as a "fix"?

Very interesting that you guys chose to go with Unity to make a game this complex and multi-layered.
