I am having the same issue. Can do airstrikes outside of combat but not in combat. Feel like I'm missing something obvious, but neither left click nor right click do anything. 

Same here, airstrikes only work if you order them from the squadron menu, not the support tab in the battle.

Although even then they will sometimes get stuck. The bomber takes off but never arrives at its goal and is forever stuck in its mission. And it causes the next turn to hang as well.

I am having this same issue... have we heard anything about when this bug will be fixed?

Would be good to know if this issue is recognised as a known issue or at least something that is being investigated?

I have also noticed that the squadron based in Nok (part of the battlefield) cannot support the battle. Strange.

I'm having the same issue which really reduces the fun in the game!
