As stated above since purchase all cut scenes and animations fail to play with background audio having a stutter to it during gameplay. Animations behave correctly at first by starting and playing for roughly 2-3 seconds but after just a few moments they stutter freeze jump forward artifact then finally cut to black. After cutting to black the game progresses forward 80 percent of the time and crashes 20. This affects the intro SEGA cinematic at the exact same time and place every time I start the game. Background music audio is affected as well when cinematics are glitching.
I have tried reinstalling the game, my drivers, and running everything in admin mode. All listed solutions found on your FAQ's sheet were followed but nothing has fixed the cinematics. This can not be replicated in other steam games such as civ 6. Please see my specs and detailed attempts to solve this issue. If this can not be resolved I would like to request a refund because all of my time thus far has been spent trying to fix these issues and I am not interested in playing it if all of the cinematics risk crashing my computer. In addition I have have tried repeatedly to attach the most recent diagnostic file here but every time I use the attachment system here I receive an error with file sizes of 342kb .html files. Since this issue is occurring on game load I don't think attaching a save will be useful. This is on a Win 10 machine with a solid state drive 16 gigs of DDR4 Ram and an intel core i7 processor.
EVERYTHING ATTEMPTED THUS FAR:
Force Vulcan Mode
One potential fix for performance or crash issues is to force Vulcan drivers. Add the command line option to force this
* Right click -> Properties on Humankind
* GENERAL tab
* Scroll down to "LAUNCH OPTIONS"
* In the box put in
-force-vulkan
* Click the "X" in the upper right to close the window
* Re-launch the game
Disable or Uninstall Audio Enhancement Tools
Some audio enhancement tools may cause the game to crash. So far known programs that may cause issues are
Nahimic (installed on MSI laptops)
Sonic Sound 2 (installed on Asus laptops)
Sonic Suite
Razer Chroma (and possibly Synapse) - note your headset will still be usable
If you have any of these programs in your system tray, please kill them and try relaunching the game.
