Isn't the whole point of the game to be able to make the civilization you want, tho? I had a hard time with the religion aspect of the game, because I wanted to have my civilization go towards Christianity but by the time I got through the civics my only options were atheism or secularism, and with secularism I lost all control of my religion. It's kindof a confusing mechanic. Granted, I'm still very new at this game so maybe I did something wrong, but it shouldn't be that hard...?

I agree with Madam Rahl. The whole point is with a game that has customization it should have the option that its able to reflect you. Especially since that is something the devs emphasized in the promotional material. Therefore, it should be an option and historically it is accurate as that's how some cultures and religions developed as monotheistic from the beginning. 

I think that it's surprising no one has even attempted to mod it yet. Furthermore, no one has even tried to make it that you could just bypass those two choices and just pick a historical religion either.
