Clearing forests should give more production

As the title says.

Currently clearing forests is almost pointless: it's much more convenient using your units to conquer more land (in that way you can also obtain expansion/warrior fame stars) rather then obtaining an almost insignificant amount of production.

Really. There are several shifts lost to obtain a misery of industry, which does not even compensate for the cost spent to create units for deforestation. On top of that, it can bring the burden of losing environmental reserves, which is the only district that removes pollution.

Maybe it should give a base of 30 Industry and be raised by 15 each time you pass era.

Or maybe cutting down forest activate special city status that gives discounts for unit cost or add some production just like some events do.

So you don’t need cut down all the forest by once, but you could do it every X turns to give boost to your city

Really nice suggestion. Maybe, if game modes were invented, I would also like to see a way for forests to regrow and expand "naturally" (and for regions to desertificate/evolve, etcetera...)
