Fairly simple in principle, but obviously requires balancing. Would mostly be replacing the stability from garrison buildings, which would instead lower the upkeep of units stationed there.

Hello there!

I really like this idea, but as you've said it couln't be implemented straight forward like this but need to be thought in a more hollistic ways alongside a braoder revamp of the stability mechanic.

It's something in a corner of our head since a long time, so we hope we can work on this aspect of the game soon, and of course there we will discuss your idea and how it could be implemented. But I cannot make any promises yet.

Thanks a lot for your feedback,

Have a very nice week

But don't you already have it? When you have a regiment inside a city it gains a small stability bonus

afaik the current system gives 5 stability for each unit (no matter how lowly) near the city center up to a gain of 20 stability for 4 nearby units

============================

an improvement would be no limit in stability gain (each nearby unit always give 5 stability)

another improvement would be redefine 'near by' to include any of your units being anywhere in the city center territory. if a city is under siege all units in the city center territory are combatants that defend the city hence in terms of gameplay such units already contribute to the stability (defense) of that city
