Or it could be a pit.

Filled with spikes.

The poison was deadly.

Endless Dungeons

A prison-sim set in space. You play the role as prison warden in control of a small prison facility in the dark reaches of space. Will you be a kind and benevolent warden and re-educate the inmates, or do you rule with an iron appendage and enforce fear, by throwing the do-no-gooders into the nearest black hole?

Actually, I do honestly believe there to be a cold buffet. Stone cold corpses of late survivors, to be precise. Several Endless laboratory accidents, not unlike to Cravers, are feeding on the unmoving carcasses. The only problem is that an especially large specimen is getting fed up with all the cold food that does neither scream nor twitch and is delighted to find the orbital delivery service to be still functional.

As a result, he intends to open the tin can with a good old plasma burner. All he will get as thanks is a lead-filling for his stomach. But that does not sate his hunger... smiley: stickouttongue

Behind the door are evil Monsters created with Dust by a crazy Endless. The heroes fight through them all and eventually reach the Endless in a giant cave. The Endless tells them some Story about how awful the Dust Wars have been (or whatever else the source of his crazyness is). Then they fight. More Dust Monsters come to help the Endless but the Heroes are capable of defeating them all. When the Endless lies on the ground, defeated, his mind becomes clear again what he also tells the heroes. Suddenly more Dust Monsters come and the Endless says, the heroes should run and tells them about a Location where a fully functional space ship is. But they won't abandon him. They drag him with them, chased by Dust Monsters. When they arrive at the hangar even more Dust Monsters appears. The Endless tells them to get into the ship and start the engine while he holds the Dust Monsters back. He gets them just enough time to get away. The last thing the heroes see is the Endless being killed by the Monsters. When they're out of the dungeon they see the ground trembling and falling down, burying the Dust Monsters together with their already dead creator.

What's behind the door? A land not so beyond our imagination, after all we are here. Still, there was a reason why this planet had been abandoned, this planet was known for its collection of old animals, once declared extinct. Zoo's are a profitable business, and what was even more profitable was to present species long gone. The Horatio tried capitalizing on this, using their clone technology, but what they didn't realize(much like everyone else at the beginning of stories) was that some things were best left dead.

After the planetary explosion, a substance call Endurium was unearthed in the subterranean cavern opened behind the door. It was this substance that made faster than light travel possible. Fortunately, in the cavern there was enough Endurium to construct a new prototype starship, which will allow us to escape the gravitational field of this rapidly decaying planet. Capt. Thyss Thyrrthynnn will pilot this starship with our hope and dreams to find a new colonizable planet.
