Well they didn't. I'd recommend someone get in some sort of legal battle with the devs, but that would just delay game development and nobody wants that smiley: biggrin

I guess I'm content with pacing in circles and tearing my hair out for the next few hours smiley: stickouttongue

Looks like I missed my opportunity to add even more background info to my faction :sadpanda: Shame but I trust Mesaima to stand strong on their own.

I soooooooooo want to play as them! The tension is so high! smiley: yell

Brilliant work Nos.

Hats off to all those that submitted an entry for the competition. Time to sit and chew your fingernails as the clock of doom ticks inevitably towards the culling of 96.

*doesn't get what pugs have to do with Roving Clans, but that brings up a question in my mind* I kinda wonder what happens if winner is close to unannounced factions... Does that mean winner will replace the unannounced ones?

I mean, Roving Clans is apparently nomadic traders, so their units probably include horseback riders and other such "nomadic" units, Drakkens are dragons, Ardent Mages(heard that is apparently a faction name from heroes <_<) is the magic faction and then there is that ninth faction that sounds like stealthy doppleganger assassin faction. Like, first three are understandable if proposals are rejected because of them since devs warned about Drakkens, Roving Clans and magic in opening post, but final one is something we aren't supposed to know about and we know it existed at least in some point because someone dug the files... So if winner is similar to that one, does that mean we won't ever get that faction in its original form?

Why would there need to be third type of listing? I think list by species already works great smiley: smile I mean, its hard to read numbered list since its so long, but second list is neat and easy to check through

Well, species matters to some, but there could also have been a list by main gameplay mechanics. An entry for single city-factions, another for settling on water, another for loot-mechanics, one for all the slaver-races. But you'd have multiple entries for many races, as already two or three entries in the species list are double (yeah, they had a 50:50 mix of two species categories I came up with). It'd get even longer than the second one and far more complicated to compile. smiley: wink

No, there wasn't. And I do not believe I could arrange a new type of listing in time. It's just too many entries for that. You'll have to stick with the two types provided. Since I do not need more space and there won't be any more additions, the thread can as well be opened to comments, now the other one is closed. smiley: wink

And yeah, I'm also amazed at that. I wonder if there was another non English entry that was left untranslated that would have bumped the number to hundred...

So, for now the list is complete. 99 factions, you guys have an involuntary sense of humor for not making the 100, exactly. XD

It really is a shame that the deadline has passed though. I'm so tempted to just edit my submission and add the extra stuff I wrote but since I'm not sure if that's against rules or not (probably is), I'm not going to smiley: ohh

You can't actually edit posts in locked down threads. Otherwise I'd be also tempted to edit stuff in since I was wondering if I should have given example of what battling with my faction units' could be like...

Three votes in 99 poll sounds rather small... But I guess there isn't really much of other options.

There will be three chosen biographies when we close the poll: the three with the most votes. However, we will allow multiple choices so you can vote for as many as you want, but you must realise that your vote will have less impact if you do so. With almost 100 faction biographies, we think 3 would be perfect and 10 choices should be the max but it's really up to you.

Edit: the problem with diving into several categories the submissions is that you already decide to make people compete against each other with a specific criteria: all the Elementals vs all the Humanoids vs all the Cybernetics factions and so on. We would then have to create new votes to choose if you'd rather have one humanoid race vs one cybernetic race etc. All of this even before getting to the GAMES2GETHER vote. And, we unfortunately need to follow our schedule if we want to make sure we'll be able to deliver this faction on time.

    @ melkathi

The biggest bonus of voting for more than one's own faction is: not feeling like a git afterwards

    Oh so true.

It's also something to do with how group voting works. 3 is an optimal number to administer and at the same time provides the option to value your own entry and force a considered choice for another 2.

Everyone feels better because they've had a shot at the title and the admin team get 3 supported options to run off on a second voting round.

(I deleted a lot here - it just didn't help) smiley: stickouttongue
