This thread seems to take rather negative turn. TBH reading all the comments here makes me kind of glad I was 4th not in top three... At least I don't have to read the comments how I should be disqualified for writing too many words ect. I think everyone should take step back. And If you can't say anything nice or at least constructive the better say nothing. At least this is my opinion on the matter.

I understand your feeling. But the development of a faction (pre-relase or post-release) shouldn't be exclusively tied to the presence of one individual no matter what. Veronica made a proposal and if it wins, she/he has the right to help the devs to flesh it. That she/he decides to use that right is another story.



That's my point of view so it may be quite flawed/biased/wrong. Disregard if that's the case.



For the record, I'm fine with whoever wins. Proposals are proposals and they will be altered as needed, as much as needed. If the devs do their work well, we should be happy with the results. And there is always room for DLCs/Expansion?

If you got excited, join the club - I did. It was fun and should be kept in that context.



Personally I think we all need to watch out for any hidden expectations when entering forum competitions like... Expecting to win; Expecting your values of what a good faction should be to win; Expecting your vote to decide the result, etc.



Or the other one where you may hope the dev team will fly in and endorse your point of view in a forum above any other? Invariably forums are about sharing and the dev team can't afford to get involved in opinions.



Hopefully everyone already realises that placing too much emphasis on the competition detail and process; looking for details to prove points of view, speculating on why one faction idea is better than another when it hasn't even been implemented in the game; misses the greatest prize that we all share, which is...



...This community and yes we are all welcome in it.



My own expectations were to meet people, have a good time, perhaps get some feedback on my entry and learn some things I didn't know about the game and about creating a custom faction. If I had won I'd have been delighted, but I didn't expect to. My ego is just not that big.



I have accomplished my expectations and feel happy. I hope you all can feel this too, once you get over the not winning bit (which of course is natural)



And everyone (mostly ) are on happy terms. Just a slight change to the writing style and we're all smiles again (mostly )

I'm voting for the Star Dreamers. They are so far from what the devs asked for in the contest rules that they'll have to be completely redesigned with new concepts and ideas and flavor.

Just putting this out there: Will we ever get to see a fantasy game without objectionable feminine clothing and the impractical armor? Yes, I am a guy, but i'm getting kind of tired of this clichéd fantasy look.



But I digress. I guess we will know whether the community is in it for objective content in Quest 2. But I for one will be drawing and modeling some practical looks for the winning faction -_-

That was the first thing that came to mind when I discovered that this game used glass steel armor.

I was looking for a little while and found this, it looks strong enough to offer a lot of protection against slashing attacks, and light enough to be useful for speed.

I would rather have the devs picking their favorite factions than us voting in a pool full of suspicious votes and factions that doesn't fit the theme , giving 10 options to vote is kinda excessive , 2 or 3 would be fine it would make people read the faction lore ( at least a bit) , i hope in future contest the devs will be more strict and cull the themes that doesn't fit and pick themselves for us to vote or at least give less votes (2 or 3 max).

I don't really see why they would be sexy anyway. I mean, they are aquatic species. Most aquatic species lays eggs of some sort. Animals that lay eggs don't breast feed.

Don't enter logic into this. All of us who voted for Nereides obviously did so out of immaturity! How dare you suggest people could simply have a different opinion than these fine gentlemen, or that interesting things could be done with that faction idea!

Let us too be honest: we are teenage boys, brains addled by hormones, craving for sultry women; we are a thankless lot who do not appreciate who in this community deserves our loyalty, as we put our need for breasts even above the good of the game.

After all, you just have to look at our own entries, and those of everyone else who may have voted Nereides after they themselves didn't make it into the G2G, and you will see the pure objectification of women. Disgusting! We should have been disqualified.
