I thought that my dreams of seeing the Viridiplantae in the g2g votes for community faction was not going to be but now there is hope , go Viridiplantae and bring the knowledge of ancient auriga to the primitive races and defeat the usurpers (g2g rivals) from infecting the living planet with ignorant rage and stupidity , for only the ancient green ones know the way of stopping whatever is causing the unforgiving winter..smiley: cool

So VOTE 5!! FOR THE Viridiplantae. smiley: yell

I humbly agree smiley: wink

We are 4th at the moment which means Viridiplantae Collective is actually first... to loose ^^" But it is only 20 votes so... maybe those mind controlling abilities of Collective could be of some use?

Huh, a lot to read and tons of emotions here...

I have to admit that I can feel with most of them and share opinion of some.

That a mod and other members with lots of friends might be in advantage seems to be absolutely true. But thats true for every democracy all over the world, so I don`t mind. One also could say, its unfair that in G2G-Votes someone that supported Amplitude by buying all games in their support-Versions has more influence than someone that just has EL. True too, more investment (money or time), more influence, thats it.

That the mechanic of this poll is quite insufficient... hm, I agree with that. The number of persons, that have read every faction-post is not that much (me not, too) , I`d say, so the posts in de mid lose.

Personally I had expected the devs to preselect the posted Factions in terms of doability and sticking to the quest-rules like:

- special way to work with minor Factions. Imo some of the postet factions don`t do that. This also could have been announced better.

- sticking to quest 1 and not solving quests 2 and 3 in advance. Here the announcement and the rules could have been better too.

I think neither the posters nor the voters want the scenario that the winning faction has to be disqualified afterwards because it can`t be implemented or was against the rules or takes away the creativity of quest 2 and 3.

I love that Amplitude involves it`s community that much, but a bit more guidance could be useful, i think.

Yeah I agree with stricter guidelines or at least enforcement of them. I mean people were supposed to be voting on name, backstory, and general gameplay description. I think too many people are voting for these factions that people completely fleshed out in there entirety thinking that's what they are gonna actually get if voted into the game, which wasn't the intention of quest 1. Your supposed to be voting for, basically, a concept. I guess I just hope people realize how much the winners ideas are gonna change, especially if they voted for the details and not the concept.

i agree with golodion. I have alredy asked Stephanie that they could chek the factions. I have also suggested that they could start rotating faction places so everyone could get the bonus 1st and last Place gives, but he hasen't been online while. I think they should do the vote agein with that rotation thing and also chek that every factions traits and abilitys can be made to the game and aren't too op. And also make sure that the factions use minor factions with unique way, because they said the factions should be like that. the star dreamers that are the second most votes earned faction doesen't use minor factions with any unique way. And those mobile cities might be empty promises because creating that kind of bonus to one faction would make it so much more special and op when compared to another factions. And also people have made more than one faction.

Too many choices, it wouldve been simple to have 5 winners in groups of 20.

But I digress, Made my choices....

After about an hour.

My .02: It would have made a lot more sense to have this design competition after people had more time to really pick up the nuances of the game. And after tech tiers 5 and 6 were released. And after the details of the other Amplitude-designed races were announced, so people would have a better idea of which racial concepts were already covered.

Maybe that'd be nice for us, but Amplitude are the guys who are going to need to implement this thing, waiting until we're all completely familiar with the mechanics probably doesn't fit into their time table for making all the mechanics and assets for a new faction.

It really is an honor to be in the top 10 in this competition, and although it does seem like my submission won't be among the final three, I am humbled and honored that so many people have voted for my contribution thus far.

Thank you to everyone who have voted for #48 The Elders so far, you are all awesome!

Woohoo, the Ascending have surpassed 50 votes, cheers and cudos all around.

Thank you for supporting the Ascending, you guys are the awesomest.

The Ascending are a highly malleable faction with units that change and are upgrade all the time, every single unit offers many choices for what it will become through its unit tree. The player also has to make a choice on their primary faction trait thus making the Ascending either technologically advanced or very numerous with high population cities.

EVOLUTION. ADAPTATION. ASCENTION[/U]

Number 55: The Ascending /#/endless-legend/forum/7-archives/thread/3573-faction-creation-competition[/B]

I'm not entirely certain of this, but I believe this is the biggest competition that Amplitude have had. Just the amount of entries itself is bigger than any I've seen in ES and I think the number voting may be double the largest before. The Moderators I'm sure can confirm.

The point I'm making is that it's fantastic so many have wanted to be involved. I'm sure no matter the complaints on process we can all get behind the dev team on giving the opportunity, thank them and feel good about having the chance to make the game special to the fans.

Which reminds me. If you haven't voted than please do. Don't pick what you think will win, pick what you want to win. But please vote.

All the best to you.

While I do agree with that, I think it wouldn't hurt too much to create such competition after all official races are at least announced smiley: smile
