Valid points! More non-humans would be ideal.

But.. As far as humans go---Sisters just have that Adeptus Sororitas feel to them!

Sisters of Battle feel so underrepresented in Warhammer 40k lore and GW support, a squandered opportunity for fascinating zealous Jeanne D'Arc style order(s).

It still costs a bajillion dollars to gather up the figurines for an army due to a lack of plastic figurines...Ontop of this, the current codex is only available in digital.

:/

Something is enthralling about idea of merciful/wrathful warrior-nuns.

Powerful yet zealous, merciful but wrathful, both strong and frail.

Awe inspiring acts can be done in the name of zeal and faith, but so can great atrocities.

Many layers to the concept. So many inherent dichotomies and dualities!

I think my fondness of the Sisters of Mercy stems from me wanting the Sisters of Battle to be represented vicariously through them lol.

I'd be beyond thrilled if they ever made it to major faction status in some sort of expansion or DLC. (unlikely!) But, for me anyhow, it would be amazing.

And well.. I RP alot of female paladin-types. >.> So. .. Theres that too.

I voted for the Sister of Mercy (because the Sisters are just cool), Hurna (because I love orcs) and Nidya (because I want Hikensha to make a semi-cameo), but what I truly want is this guy added to the game as a Support Hero smiley: wink

He'd just be another Broken Lords hero, how boring, we need to have more hero variety.

That's what I intended with the guy; more Class/Faction combos would be an interesting addition to the game in my opinion. Because as it stands, all heroes "belonging" to the same Faction share the same build: Vaulter/Common/Ranged, Broken Lord/Common/Melee, Drakken/Common/Support, etc.

More variety between them would add some pleasant diversity to the heroes, is all I'm saying. So instead of every Broken Lord hero being the same Broken Lord/Common/Melee build, we'd have Broken Lord/Common/Cavalry and Broken Lord/Common/Support as well, for example. Just my two cents smiley: dust.

Slightly off-topic; back to your regularly scheduled Amplitude smiley: amplitude Poll of Awesome!

I voted Delvers because they looks like enough civilized and humanoid to be hero, mercenaries. The others look me too much savages.

Sisters of Mercy could be good too, but I don't understand their background so I prefer classicalq dwarves-like.

Well, there's a simple explanation for both of these.

As for the Sisters of Mercy's background, there's some of it in-game, although not enough to paint a completely canon picture, so I'll have to fanon some of this. Everything in black is from the games or some other official document. Everything in red I just made up to fit in with the setting. Here goes...

"The original Sisters of Mercy was an organization created by the Broken Lords, prior to the events that turned them into the Dust vampires they are today. The Sisters of Mercy, as their name implies, was to grant mercy to people around the land; healing the sick, slaying the wicked, helping the meek, and so on. But when the Broken Lords were created, the Sister's could no longer maintain their own code and feed themselves at the same time. So the orders numbers dwindled; either from its members leaving the order to save their own lives, forsaking the oath they had taken when sworn into the order, or slowly starving to death.

"Eventually, the last members of the original Sisters of Mercy disappeared, leaving behind only the old oaths of knighthood, tales of good and histories of noble deeds that they had performed before the horrible curse that now afflicted the Lords of the Amber Plains. And for many long and dark years, they lay forgotten... until one day, a group of humans discovered the old orders texts in an abandoned chapel. Seeing the good that the order had done before it disappeared, these human women made the decision to ressurect the order, and to once more go forth into the world, to lend aid to weak and the downtrodden, to right wrongs, and to grant Mercy to those in need."

Or at least, that's my interpretation of it, based almost entirely on what I've extrapolated from playing the game, so if Steph'nie or someone else wants to step in and tell me if I'm even in the same hemisphere as the ballpark, that'd be appreciated.

In the name of making sure non human heroes are the ones to be selected choose eyeless Ones over Sisters of Mercy!

I'm not even... Just, please... why so COMMON, why not original. I would love to see a savage-look hero, in the name of innovation.

I feel like the Guaran need a bit more allure and a hero would be a neat way to expand a bit more on them.

A Ceratan hero would be most bad-ass.

But that is probably my Dark Soul's fetish speaking. :P

Voted Silics, I love using them in EL. Not a huge fan of the two leads at the mo' (Sisters, Eyeless Ones) but I think a hero from either of these two might help change my opinion of them (plus support heroes are great!) smiley: smile

I voted Delvers, because I love having a bunch of gigantic yet tiny people with skulls spinning around so much the opponents die... Geldrius because... Well, they are fast and wiggle wiggle wiggle their arms in your face and you die... And Jotus, because as cool and ridiculous the other two are, I love the idea of a two-headed werewolf with the status of "hero"

Seconded! A Dust Bishop hero would be face meltingly amazing (Though possibly overpowered).

And the poll is now closed! It looks like the next community hero is going to be from one of these three factions:

  • Eyeless Ones
  • Sisters of Mercy
  • Kazanji

The G2G vote will start tonight, so stay tuned!
