Well I just bought the game, following seeing the Endless Legends trailer and the most recent addition was July 2013, if I'm not mistaken? That's pretty recent for a major expansion when you consider the amount of investment has to go into developing everything - artwork in initial dev stages, programming, testing, playtesting before final release.

Personally, I would expect Endless Space 2, rather than another expansion. A chance to apply the learns from Endless Legend and DotE!

Still waiting for my copy to arrive, but already I'm crawling up the walls for it! Great job Amplitude!

The last major update was in November, when they introduced Auriga, the planet EL and DotE are set on.

Yeah I'd love to see them revisiting Endless Space, thou tbh EL looks very promising so far and I can imagine them doing quite some stuff for that after it is released.

I've also noticed a few bugs, especially after a few hours of play, sometimes clicking a unit will bug the game, and then it acts all weird and I have to save/quit or it crashes.

I haven't been able to put the finger on what causes this, but it's usually when I've completed 2/3's of a tech tree, (so a few hours of play) that the game starts getting prone to glitches, crashing and not being able to even click on anything.

Since Endless Space was actually a cheap game(atleast when I bought it), I don't mind paying 40-50usd for a much better Endless Space sequel.

I would certainly appreciate if the devs would giv it another revisit, taking out the last bugs and doing some minor rebalancing. Civ4 got a last patch years after the last expansion came out. I think that was awesome and added to the long term value retainment of that game.

It may be surprising but I am against developers going back to Endless Space. IMO the game is fine as it is. I'm not blind to what faults it has but for now there is no game braking bugs as I see it. I'd much more like developers to focus on their other 2 games and when it is time to revisit ES just make ES2 and gave all owners of a loyalty discount. (so if it's -25% in alpha if you own disharmony you maybe get -50%). My reasoning is that the game is old, it was released almost 2 years ago and I feel like it was supported for extraordinary length of time. Most issues like for example computer spawning 100 fleets with scouts to annoy you seems to require serious redesigning of the game that imo would be better spent making sequel.

That solution would allow to fix all the issues of ES in the development stage without need to deal with outdated game engine and if developers decided to give owners of ES a discount it would feel like stand alone expansion for us.

As now 2 early access of endless universe games at the same time, really not want hearing ES 2 in the plan atm, at least before Dote or EL releasing, I think I 'll buy Dote and EL when more content added bcz I got a bit disappointed by disharmony, more like a dlc not a expansion.

For ES , I know amplitude is not Ubi or EA, their energy & source is limited, but still hope ES can get devs' attention again after Dote and EL get their stable version in early access, not just fix some bugs, maybe ES's update frequency is less at that time, but eventually to make a complete cycle of Endless Universe , which consists of ES + Dote + EL, especially considering the cross-ES promotion of latter two.

There is still many ways to improve ES without making sequel. Maybe add sun or another stars to small solar systems to balance them (red giants, pulsars, double stars). Well, it's called endless space, isn't it? However. Sequel is for kiling previous game. Standalone addons which contains base game are kind of soultion to keep game alive with large player base I think (for example Supreme Commander and Forged Alliance addons).

I'd love for them to add Espionage, and a more advanced Invasion mechanics.

Simpel cinematics for invasion like the space battles and even add combat actions/cards for invasion.

It would be awesome. I really like the Card mechanics. smiley: biggrin

But as you've discussed, there is room for alot of improvments.

Love the game though

I Would love to see an update or too.. hell I would even pay if it was a substantial pack.

My two cents, Cosmetics... I would personally love to see ship upgrades make them look different, so if my ship is all missiles it would look diffrent to one that's all kinetic, even if it was a minor difference ala EVE/Swords of a solar.

Along with this I would be extremely happy (even if it was in a mod) for weapons to shoot from a particular point.. as at the minuet it looks like they are shooting out of the windows ...

P.S one comment I read about the "old engine" if I'm correct ES is in Unity, and if they updated to the latest engine it wouldn't be the end of the world. It would actually bring cool stuff like 64bit and other updates... jus sayin

Eitherway Love ES and I hope the endless series continues endlessly XD

I dislike espionage for the most part. No one every gets the balance right. It's either too powerful or absolutely useless.

I would love to see a better diplomacy system. A little more detail in ship design would be nice, and I would love for weapons and modules to alter the visuals of the ships. It would be nice to see shots actually come out of turrets on the ships.

I agree with this. I've never seen any 4x game where espionage made the game better (IMHO, of course).

What about espionage in Alpha Centauri?

the most recent addition was July 2013, if I'm not mistaken?

Last significant content addition was the Vaulters in December. There was another patch in January with some important Harmony and Vaulters changes.

Endless space is not finished, why do dev team move to a new game before finishing old one?

at least some patch or anything, there is still some work to do.

No offense to the dev team but we haven't see any new patch until now. that's really bad. ant there is a lot of room for new bug fixes to this game.

for example "+1 blockade bypass" bug (hero ability and imporvement) is not resolved for a very long time.

shame on you because we paid the game and no patch for months ^^

I would think that the devs consider this game pretty much finished.

You can't expect them to fix every single bug in the game - it's actually pretty rare to see a game to have so few remaining bugs left when it's "finished" (or sometimes just abandoned).

(Though the Blockade Bypass not working is not that minor of a bug, so I hope they will find time to fix it.)

I agree I think another feature packed expansion could add a lot more to this game rather then entirely new game. I've been watching with my eyes on this one for a while and Im probably going to bite soon.

I'd be more than happy with either continued development of ES or simply moving on to a sequel for it in the future. I'm sure that the development process for EL will yield additional ideas and present possible new mechanics that would be better suited to a sequel than to the original.

I thikn that at this point, having moved on to different titles, the devs might be a bit reluctant to go back to ES. I'm pretty sure that they like that game, it is their firstborn baby after all, but there were some newbie mistakes they made at the start of the development which haunt them to this day.

They learned from the past and you can see that in DotE and EL which is yet another reason why it could be frustrating to go back to ES with it's messier (code-wise) design.
