Honestly, I don't really have much of a standard naming convention. I tend to vary the names of my planets -- including homeworlds -- depending on either which race I'm playing as, and/or any special characteristics the planet may have. (For example, if a colony has a feature which gives it a bonus to computer-related research, I might name it Silicon Valley.)

My favorite homeworld planet is Hiigara

In truth whenever I play a random species, depending on the background and feel I am going for, the name I give the star and the species' homeworld. So I don't really have a "favorite homeworld planet name" so to speak.
