What gfx engine does ES use? Anyway the game looks fantastic. The battles look great, though I hope they allow some sort of camera control during the fighting.

It was defaulted to simple graphics when installed on my laptop, but I could easily ratchet it up to beautiful with no obvious suffering on my laptops part, it seems really well optimised too. I love seeing a fleet gliding towards a planet and then opening up a massive broadside of lasers!

For an Alpha Version Realy realy Good and beautifull. 9 points out of 10 .. Only thing which can be a bit better are the Explosions.

Love the art style (even the UE ships that some people seem to have problems with). UI is clean, pleasent to look at and very functional. Some more detail and "oomph" to explosions, maybe proper beam weapons and I have no complaints. 9 out of 10 as I don't believe in perfection.

For an Alpha it suprises me its so playable already however there are lots of things that I'd like to see added still.

I'd say, the main problem is mostly the fact that there's no battle camera control. THere's so many times I wanted to zoom out to observe all the ships as I tore the enemy fleet an asshole.

This game is incredible !!! I've had no crashes or other problems, hard to believe that a Alpha release can be this good. Nice details like planets revolving with with there moon, can see city lights & space ships moving around the planet. There has been a lot of time & effort on all the little / small thing as well as the big main items too. keep running into things that amaze me or just plain make me laugh & say that's coool : )

I gave it a 9/10

For an alpha? Fantastic. And it has one of the best UIs I've had the pleasure of seeing. Its all very manageable and clean which is a must for a 4x game.

And I like the art direction of the ships so really? No complaints at all. Looking good and will probably look better as time goes on!

Overall the game looks pretty good, I always prefer depth to polish... that said, the set battle camera gets annoying after a few battles

I agree with you and eviliron. For the stage it is great, but could use tweaking and some improvement.

I guess this is a good spot to complain. My only complaint with the battles (asides from cameras going inside ships) is that before ships explode sometimes, they start to sink. That shouldn't happen, they're in space. If they were being pulled toward a nearby planet or something, yeah. Not just tipping downwards sharply then boom.
