Didn't even know you could do that, but I guess that explains the ships I saw moving outside warp lanes last game.

Also, I may just be being dumb, but since the patch I can't move my ships at all. I click to move them and the course dots plot out but nothing ever moves. Did they change something I'm not aware of or is this a bug?

Version 0.30.5, 0.30.3 and 0.20.whatever are all save game compatible. However, if say there was a bug in 0.20 which caused a huge fleet to be generated, and you continue this game with a later release, the huge bug fleet will still be there. So, for minimal bugginess, it is recommended to start new games with the new version.

Just checked and my saves was there.

Thanx dev, nice suprise.

Yes, they do. I think you could even import the alpha1 saves, to the new location...maybe.

I actually just restarted the game entirely and it seems to work now. Transient bug maybe? I'll post if it happens again.

Finally we can force movement and override the pathfinding by holding shift while click clicking. And do Warp(?) move by holding control. OMG AMAZING. smiley: cool

check out thread: here

EDIT: ok fine not just came out. it came out more than 1 hour ago. Now that I bothered to check the post times.

I just want to say...

I was in the Fall of the Samurai beta. I've been in quite a few betas. So far, Amplitude Studios has the distinction of being the most responsive, best managed company I have had the pleasure of working with in such a matter. I haven't done much with them thus far, it is true, but looking at these boards and this game, all I can say is...Wow. You guys kick Creative Assembly's ass. Wargaming has nothing on you. Even Valve isn't this responsive. I mean...Actual people from the company are actually posting on the actual message board? What a REVOLUTIONARY CONCEPT. Actually LISTENING TO THE FEEDBACK OF YOUR CUSTOMERS? In the FoTS beta, we got one update. And it made things worse. And then they 'updated' the game and made a bunch of changes to appeal to the people who were trying to play a game set in the 1860's like it was back in the 1500's. And it's still broken and glitchy, just like Empire Total War and Napoleon Total War. But this game looks to have the potential to see its release date without any horrific, game breaking, annoying, or otherwise major bugs. Or, at least, ones which won't be quickly fixed because the company is actually looking at its message boards and interacting with people on them.

You know, on any other forum, I would be so sarcastic right now it would be oozing out of my ears. But here, this is honest to God praise.

I love you, Amplitude Studios. Please let me have your e-babies.

Bravo to the dev team, that was a speedy turnaround on those bugs! I'm glad I made an investment in this game.

  • Movement options are good
  • Tax algo is now sane, but still fairly easy
  • "You lost x number of ships after the battle ended and the enemy didn't even have missiles" has reached EPIC proportions

That last one is really irritating ~ what's the point of an animated battle, where I survive with 3/3 or 7/7 using cards well, and against no missiles... and when we get the report. OOPS, looks like you had to lose some. In all cases the exact number of ships in their fleet -.-

Sigh.

I haven't tried it yet but I think the following:

1. ctrl+click = departure from warp lanes; just go directly between starts

2. shift+click = gets you to adjacent system or through wormhole without the game looking for elaborate routes that go nowhere.
