I think you should add "mix" or something like that^^

I'm a massive fan of kinetics. Love just ripping up the enemy ships after closing them down.



Tht probably has something to do with me running Minmatar ships on EVE with projectile turrets though smiley: smile

putting a "mix" option would not provide enough info smiley: wink Making people choose between the 3 however would create a more clear picture on weapon preferences.

For me it depends on the race: The Fishes look best with beams maybe add rockets, the UE ships look better with kinetics / added rockets ..

but i will equip with whatever is necessary... on the higher difficulties u got no choice

Many ships, preferably destroyers, equipped with nothing but kinetic weapons will rip the enemy apart within 5 second.

I mostly go for missiles or beams. Destroy a fleet before its kinetics get a chance to really come to bear.

I really just go all beams. I love seeing missiles streaming towards the enemy, but beams suit the Sophons and you can often cripple the enemy in the long range phase with heavy enough fire.

Beams, as they seem to be the best all round guns. Missiles take too long to fire and kinetics are really inaccurate and later in the game getting close without losing all your ships just doesn't happen. I find once the turns hit about 50 I never get past the medium range phase. Either I win or I'm taken out.

Is this a trick question? IMHO, the best weapon is, "the one your enemies haven't teched-up their defense against". I don't think you should get attached to any one weapon with the system today. Regardless of what it looks like in tactical, N points of beam weapon is identical in effect to N points of missile or kinetic.



If the system were designed differently, or if it changes in later alpha, then there may be actual gameplay reasons for one vs another.



Has anybody verified any actual difference between them? (This is complicated by the invisible missile bug.)

As anyone but Sophon I like the idea of kinetics (and yes perhaps at one time I was Minmatar on EVE too...), but as Sophon I just can't not use beams.

Missiles for me , beams are strong but I prefer to make other researches (planets colonization / cruiser etc ) .

1 beam, 1 missile, and 20 kinetic. I also use at least 5 of each defense then rest is armor.



Fleet of 7 with 20 kinetic each means a wave of 140 kinetic being spammed across space.

That's the way the game has been designed. But we all can have some irreal attachment to some things. I prefer missiles for their destructive power. BOOOOOM for the win !
