I give you the Hissho DN! Ugly beast!

That picture doesnt do it justice! They look impressive flying in formation in the tactical battle screen.

I like the United Empire's corvette model--their prows remind me of the rams on some 19th century ironclads.

Couldn't agree more, I really the prows on those Corvettes always liked the 40k ones. Defiantly my favourite style of ship, even though there isn't much call for streamlining in space.

The UE ships are nicely done, they look very sleek and menacing. That said, the Horatio ships look the most pleasing to the eye.

I think the horatios are "too pretty". They are no military ships :/

While I agree that the Horatio's and the Sophon ships are beautiful the Amoeba's have a special appeal to me because of their organic nature. I mean, they are basically ginourmous superbacteria with pretty, sturdy shells for protection. How could that not be awesome?

The Sophon get the second place in my book, closely followed by the Horatio. The elaborate ships of the Hissho have their appeal as well (as, really, does everything depicted in their artwork).

I just got the Hissho Battleship, and I got to say they are very impressive! I'm curious to see their DN...

Quite like the Hissho BB too. Very predatory. Don't like the UE flying bricks at all, tho the DN does look impressive. The Hissho DN feels very Condorish. Which is what I tend to name them when I design the class. Or what a condor would be like if it was crossbred with a predator, and not an overgrown vulture. Haven't played Sophon enough to get a real gander at them. My fleets rip them to shreds to fast to appreciate them when playing against them and not had a good start with them yet.

Horatio ships are attractive. I wish i can see pictures of other ships as I've mostly played UE and Horatio.

I'm not too fond of Sophons' ships. They remind me of the oh so common overly slick car concepts.

The Hissho are ok, it reminds me of the old egypian styles. I can see how it could be appealing for others but i'm not into that particular style. I've never seen the cravers beyond the illustrations.

I'm very interested in Amoeba ships. I'm curious on how well they perform as they seem to lean towards the diplomatic side.

Pirate warships ftw heh, not a fan of the flying dolphin fish ships.. I prefer the good ol beefy naval style design. If I was going into battle in space and had a huge flying dolphin fleet coming at me I would laugh rather than run in fear, flying fish just dont fill me with dread.

I guess every space game has to have at least one alien race with fancy lookin organic ships.

This I agree about the Sophons' ships.

Compared to most races' ship designs which tend to be really smart-looking and flowing designs which appear to help accentuate how advanced and evolved their cultures are, the UE ships somehow just look like something out of Dune or 40k or, dare I even say it, like toasters... but you know what? I like that! smiley: wink
