I always wanted to play EVE, but never wanted to pay the subscription fee. I would personally rather shell out 60 bucks for a game than dish out fifteen bucks a month, or whatever price the game demands. Even if it's just five bucks a month, that means that if I stop playing for a year and then have a sudden urge to play a few hours of it, I have to shell out more cash. I wish those games would at least use a system where you paid for playtime, not real time; i.e. buy 60 hours of game time for 15 bucks, and you can use it up over three days or three years if you so desired.

...in retrospect, this probably isn't the appropriate thread.

if they did that id be broke. I have 4 accounts on eve and i like be able to pay only 15 per account no matter how long i play.

Of course the UE has inspired ship designs! Inspired by the Imperium of Man. Honestly. They're just the Imperium's ships. No offense to the studio, I just assume that's what they were going for. I mean, seriously now.

Sowers have a fantastic aesthetic to their ships which is both functional and slightly mysterious. I can't help but wonder what exactly is going on inside. Badass.

Horatio also has a nice feel, but I honestly think there's too little variety in the designs to keep things interesting. Lovely concept but I wish it was expounded upon.

I said earlier that I recall hearing the UE designs were inspired by Greek architecture. If that's true then presumably the Imperium ships had similar inspiration.

Simple. What factions' ship design do you like the best?

The amoeba ships look 'alive'.

The sophon ships look very clean, smart, and... apple-esq? (The computer company).

And the horatio ships are probably the most original (and good looking) ship designs i've seen yet.

Here's (a better) link to all the ship designs if you don't know what all of them look like.

True enough! The Sophons did help them out! I think I more or less just wanted an excuse to say diet sophons. You have to admit that sounds tasty!

As a Craver player I find shame in the fact that I can't think of a good response to that.

mmm Dune. UE kind remind me of warhammer 40k. And Mmm steampunkish--I get that vibe from Craver ships too. Still can't pick a favorite though. Pilgrims might be my least favorite, they kind of look like Sophons-lite, or diet sophons.

I recall their lore involving them being sort of raised by the Sophons, so from a story perspective it makes sense that their ships look similar.
