The developers are ready to discuss what to include in exp. pack but i cant see any list how they want to improve the original game except those silly g2g votes.

Protesting is fine, as we all have the right for it.

But this is more of a business decision, you can't just make all of your money from one game if people can just pay the once, amplitude would go bankrupt!

This is more of a brainstorming session to decide what is far to heavy to put in the current game in a reasonable amount of time, most of what people are suggesting is going to be put in vanilla ES anyway so i don't know why many things are actually being added.

So feel free to share with us what you feel is easy enough to be put in the game we already own! and good luck buddy! smiley: smile

I meant spacetrolls post about how they are not abandoning the original. Big game devs have so poisoned people we cant even have a discussion about an expansion without people freaking out and assuming the worst...

Edit: Thanks skamaks!

Please, try to edit your post instead of double posting in the future. smiley: smile And, keep in mind that the community started growing and participated in the making of this list after the Beta and the release of the game: at that time, it is quite unlikely to implement big features, and that's why we have kept track of the community suggestions, and are now discussing this expansion pack.

Like we said, the G2G is still there, and everyday, we have our team working on adding features, fixing bugs, balancing and so on.

Edit: refer to this thread - you will see a little sum up of all the features we have worked on so far, thanks to the G2G.

Khmm.. I explain how the staff works:

When some people that do things presents those things to a public (in ideas state) that means they actually already start working on those things.

And when other people say we keep supporting something after release this means that there is like half of a man does some things like bug fixing and once a month release a small feature which actually takes like a day to implement with a full team.

You dont need to take everything literally. Just the idea how things work and resource distribution.

Please, try to edit your post instead of double posting in the future.

The problem is that forum engine doesnt merge posts. i suggest you to update it.

And the reason of double posting is when your post is last or before the last on the page after you edit it the person who is answering it may not see the changes.

Boarding ships can capture enemy ships and keep them to use them for privateering under a fake flag (the flag of the original owner).

The question I want answered is: can we use those fake enemy ships to commit war atrocities on a third faction? Cause that would be devilishly awesome.

I like that idea so much more than the rantings at the beginning of the day. smiley: wink

Well, shall we declare peace or at least cold war, mull over it a bit and then start working on this constructively? I realize that for the people at the event on friday, most bombs were defused by the devs being there to instantly answer their questions (many of those which came up in this thread, today) and that it is suboptimal to not simply have restated those questions and answers, again, at the very beginning.

By now almost all is present in the forum, but more or less as piecemeal...

Well put. Maybe the announcement should have been handled differently. That is the kind of thing you learn when trying something different. No sweat.

It is nice that these concerns were defused in person, but I suspect some of the rest of us could use some defusing too. Answering each post seems a waste of time.

So, I guess we are waiting for a more through announcement from the devs that addresses the concerns so many people have voiced?

One thing not yet mentioned:

More battle music!

It gets tedious after while to listen same old tune all the time.

Race specific music could be cool too.

Are you guys (Devs) also working on different battle play-outs?

To elaborate on that vague question or suggestion, will there be different "Drive-by" style battles? As in one side is charging head on into the enemies line (The battle would look similar to the letter " T ")

For the huge ships you could give the Cravers a huge " Ultra-super-hiveship-of-planet-cracking" which could bolster their FIDS on one system at a time and pick it's own exploitation to specialize in (it's own planet really)

Maybe even expand that idea to the Pilgrims and give them their own "City ships" that can house population and work similar to the above mentioned but at a drastically lower rate.

That's all I got for now, Also just like to mention that one of the Pilgrims' artwork seems to remind me of the movie "Armageddon" xD possible reference?

Thanks again for all your hard work! Keep it up the game is still fun xD

The ability to foment unrest on enemy planets would be nice.

Oh, and the option to mandate the class of your starting Hero.

One of the features i have come to love in one other game. Is the concept of City states äää Minor Races.

They should not expend but be powerfull enough to withstand an attak in the early and midgame.

I'm not sure you understand why we have opened this discussion: like we have mentioned, we have just started the thread because we are trying to gather ideas for the first expansion pack, which is not coming out before a while. And no, we have not started to work on any expansion, with the restricted number of employees currently at the office (15 people either at the office or on holidays, Gamescom, Unite 2012), as I keep mentioning, we are still supporting the core game, fixing bugs and adding features voted by the community.

This is the whole idea of the Games2Gether here: starting a discussion on the actual content before we start coding, designing and so on. So keep the ideas coming as we are listening to your suggestions. smiley: smile

But yeah, let's keep the discussion on topic please!

i realy like codename_veers' idea with the choosing of the battleground inside the systems smiley: smile

how about some more things in the system view? a few ships flying around. if a fleet is stationed in the system it could orbit one of the planets and if a system is under siege little fighters could fly around sometimes and shoot each other

i am already looking forward to the expansion smiley: smile

Thank you. ^^ Even though I like real-time-battles, the ES Battlesystem thrilled me very much (after the first rounds I needed to learn to handle it!). I would very much love to see it improved with this idea. Variation is the word!

Will edit my first post which you can find here: /#/endless-space/forum/28-game-design/thread/11347-expansion-pack with more ideas underneath - as Steph'nie asked for. Keep up the good work. It's nice to be (even a little) part of it. smiley: smile
