Nosfe revived his thread in the general forums. And I posted reminders on Twitter and Facebook last night. smiley: smile

But if it wasn't clear before: The last post of me was an incite to start voting, people!

2 weeks is enough time to read through this by now very small selection. smiley: biggrin

This hasn't got anything to do with pink princess doom, right? I mean, Panzer and Rijjka have got the pink voting bars...

The poll might see more voters if some announcement was made on the top forum, or is the thread itself were there...It is kind of hidden, after all.

Probably 9800/8 votes for each other propositions, statistically speaking smiley: stickouttongue

Quite sad for you and me. ^^

Wow, talk about a tough choice. I need to start roaming around the G2G forum way more often, seeing as I almost missed that poll. (Now that would have been a shame. smiley: frown)

People don't look at announcements, or sticky, or obvious things. smiley: alder Worth a try though. smiley: smile

Also, one thing that may hinder the voting: all the factions add up to make a lot of reading. I'm pretty sure that many people will just skip and wait for the G2G part of the voting process simply because they can't be bothered to go through all that. smiley: frown

Voted Aparatus, as they provide the greatest difference in playstyle to the current factions, although I like the Makers as well.

Fal' Hadei had an interesting Affinity though.

Eaters of the Dead would be more interesting if their Affinity was ... more. Just switching food and production isn't enough to excite me as a "yeah, this plays different!"

The Automatons was a nice attempt, but I'm unsure of its viability.

The Nahgeen looked interesting, although lost points as Yet Another Human Race (as did the last four or five races all together, "This is a splinter faction from the UE" next). Their Affinity is different enough to offer a potentially unique playstyle, though it is worded oddly.

Voted for Photon_Ventdesdunes : The Nahgeen's.

A good read and interesting race, especially liked the artwork. The women almost looks like the priestess from the film Priest, and couldn't help but think 'monocle!' with your fleet commander.

I voted for the Eaters, although it was a hard choice between them and the Apparatus.

I'm not sure I quite understand the "prize":

Steph'nie wrote:
The [winningfactionwillbe] included on the race selection screen, as a custom faction
(emphasis added)

Does that mean the faction will be implemented fully, i.e. with their own affinity as described (in which case doesn't that make it just "a faction", not "a custom faction"), or just as a custom faction that anyone could create, i.e. using an existing affinity?

I think that's the mystery, because even in the dedicated thread, this has neither been confirmed nor denied, outright: /#/endless-space/forum/28-game-design/thread/13108-prize-for-the-winner-s
