It is determined by the smiley: industry cost and varies, from slightly less than double to more than quadruple. I think level of tech/hull are factors, as well as strategic resources involved. System improvement seem to follow a similar pattern. It could well be an exponential curve based on the smiley: industry cost

Can you see that Dust upkeep somewhere in game? I mean not for whole fleet, but for single ship (when i'm broke and need to scrap ships :P)

You can't, but you can work it out.

If all ships are in fleets it will give you a cost in dust for your fleets and say nothing about ships. If ships are in fleets and hangars, you'll get 2 separate costs. So if you want to work out the upkeep of a single ship, make sure all ships are in fleets except that ship. shuffle to work out others.

That said I do wish there was a simpler solution to this via the fleet window. It would be nice to know.

Scout ships seem to be around 2.6 dust/turn. I currently have 4 scout ships at one planet, all 4 cost 11 dust/turn. 1 cost 3, 2 costs 6, 3 costs 8. it doesn't seem to matter which combination used, 2 are upgraded costing more than double to produce than the default scouts. So I'm assuming all values are rounded up, even if it's only 5.1 it shows as 6, or if only 7.1 it shows as 8. yet it's clearly enough that 4 is over 10.

The rest of my ships are too far spread or not on systems I own to test further.

The dust maintenance cost does not differ according to modules. The cost per CP of the ship is (0.4 * your fleet CP cap). In the beginning of the game, your fleet cap is 5, so a scout costs 2 dust/turn. In the late game, when your fleet cap is say 15, the same scout costs 6 dust/turn. In many cases the dust/turn is fractional, so there is some "roundoff"; for example, with a fleet cap of 9, the cost of 3.6 is rounded off when it is displayed. One ship will show as 4 dust (rounded from 3.6) but two ships will show as 7 dust (rounded from 7.2).

I'm trying to find out which planets gives me expansion disaproval to other solar systems. I heard that t1/t2 that does not ... can i find that out when i see stats of planet? (When i see -10 population disaproval - or this does not affect it?) How much it will give to all systems according to it's stats? (For now don't count any research lowering it).

Thx much for answer

Where do I put in my CD keys for the Hero and the ship skin bonus content? I've found the G2G points one, but the others aren't showing up anywhere that I've looked.

@ pamposek, all planets contribute equally to expansion disapproval. Of course, each planet has a different local approval; if you colonize a terran, you don't get a local approval penalty, whereas if you colonize an asteroid with high radiation, you can get a pretty big local approval penalty. Since local approval has an effect on global approval, you may misinterpret this as an "expansion" disapproval, but it isn't.

@ imoen, the limit of empires is 8. Players and modders cannot affect this today.

@ spunkyo5, please read the threads in the website support forum, to find the answer to this frequently asked question.

Is there a way to tell how long you have to be diplomatically neutral w/ an ai before u can offer peace its annoying to have to check every turn on every race can eat up a lot of time....

Why with the same total food does population growth go down when u expand to another planet in the same system...with 1 planet and 80 food i can have 100% growth rate then i expand to another planet and still have 80 food but yet my growth rate is now 50%

@ burnered, what is the happiness value of the second planet? Unless it is tier 1, it will have a happiness penalty, which decreases growth.

Can you explain how the scaling on accelerated magnetics works? The text is "+15% laser damage absorbed per round on beam weapon" and similar for the other weapon types. I understand that it reduces incoming damage, but is it reduced by 15% of the enemy's weapon power, or by 15% of your own weapon power of the same type?

Your shields will be boosted, as they adsorb energy weapon damage.

Agreeably "+15% laser damage absorbed per round on beam weapon" is rather confusing.

What are the best planets for producing Industry, Dust, Food?

I saw a guide to this last week, but I can't find it again

Food is Terran I'm assuming

Dust would be Arid?

Industry I'm thinking Desert

I'm not sure because each planet supports different pop & bonuses

Cheers

Are there any plans of increasing it?

More players, and with a mod that greatly increases the galaxy size, would make for some epic games smiley: biggrin

Of course, those that have the power to run it :P

Could someone explain to me where the "Food From Empire" comes from? It appears in the list of sources of food when you hover over the food number for a system. How is it calculated? Does it come from excess generated by other planets? If so, this may mean it is worth keeping food excess in systems even after you hit the population cap in order to build population elsewhere. Thanks.
