im not a computer guy or a computer modeler but isn't there a laser that u can use on a BFG model to digitize it in to something u can use as a model to use in the mod?

Hey all. So...this mod is probably going to go on a bit of a hiatus. RL just got real over the past month.

There's quite a few issues with that, including different scales, accuracy, colouration and cost (He'd be buying close to forty ships, which would be ridiculous).



Besides, some of these don't actually have models yet. It is an arduous process, but it's the only way.

Do you have an optimum release date for the first part of this mod? Now that I have read this whole thread, I was hoping you could give a rough time frame for release.

All joking aside, modelling is super hard (I tried making a Monolith, the easiest one in the whole batch to do; After two weeks it still looked AWFUL) and time-consuming, and Leitoh mentioned life was getting busy. Combining all that with the fact one person is trying to make as many models as the base game has all on their own, and I would expect it'll be quite some time.

romeo has made another thread where he's starting to make the races' custom affinities, traits, tech trees, anomalies where you can test the races as they are produced and tell him how they play and if they feel like the races in warhammer 40k

As the modeller left this mod (And I can't model to save my life), I shifted over to a game-play and image only mod (Search for Battlefleet Gothic). With the updates that happened to the game, I didn't maintain it (Too many changes to constantly keep updating). When Endless Space 2 comes out, provided it isn't too resistant to modding, I'll re-do the mod for it (Without Ship Models).

The vanilla ship classes will be slightly altered in order to incorporate ships found in 40k.



Ship Class:

List of BFG ship models to be used, listed in the order of ship type. Some slots will be labeled N/A because there isn't a BFG ship model that fits the ship type. That means I'll have to get creative when I get to them...

EDIT: For no other purpose, i guess for fluff reasons. The game/faction descriptions should be set in a sector, it hardly feels like a galaxy ( least a million of worlds ) plus would also cover the fact the system's all have unknown names. Something about a Warp-storm containing this sector for thousands of years. Much like the Tau.

Tip if I may: Don't think about doing the modeling and such things unitl the coding work is done, and the mod plays well.



Looks are nice, but mean nothing if the mod's game play isn't finished.

Thank's for the heads up Igncom1, right now i believe Leitoh is planning a simply re-skin of the ships & leaving the more large game changes till the next expansion of ES is out & also for more support from modders.

I see where you're coming from, but I think it'll be safe to begin artwork as it'll just be swapping assets. There isn't going to be much of a change in game play as the mod is just a reskin (for now).



As far as the galaxy map goes, I'm okay with the randomization of planet locations like in the vanilla game.



This mod is going to be a wash of 40k instead of a total conversion with fluff down to the letter.

Dont get me wrong, i'm more than happy to play with out a 100% fluff. More just saying as a way to explain & get people in a mind set for why there is only one world to start with & to better give breathing room for any writer to come along to fill in descriptions random events/wonders etc smiley: stickouttongue
